Question:

Does anyone else teach Adult or Community Education classes?

I teach adult and community education class at a local college and at the high school. These are credit classes in vocational school and for a certificate program. Everyone is an adult. There are no grades, just pass and fail. If you attend and pass the test, you pass, if not you fail. Simple as that!

What advice do you have about how to be a better teacher for Adult Education? Any innovative ideas?

  1. I've participated in the same kind of programming and I liked it as well.  For adults it's recommended you try to get them actively involved in a project, activity, or discussion.  I think it's interesting (and fun) to have adults role play certain people or take certain positions on a debatable issue and get questioned by others in the class.
