Does anyone else think Global Warming is BS?

It is getting colder everywhere! I collect Styrofoam and tires and burn them hoping for some warm weather! Just imagine laying on the beach on Lake Michigan in January! If such a thing exist, it would save me alot of money flying to Florida every year! Although, it's cold down there to in the winter!

Of course it's bull.  The term, "global warming" failed as did "global cooling" so now the doomsayers had to come up with a term so even when they're wrong, they can still claim they were right.  And this is where it gets absurd.  If it snows in October, we're suddenly headed for global cooling.  But if it warms up in January, like it does every year for about a week, as it is known as the January Thaw, then suddenly it's global warming.  And then we get below zero temperatures in February and that's called "climate change."  I thought we got cold because it was still winter.  

People are now asking if thunder storms are caused by global warming.  Thunderstorms are nothing new, and they've been wilder than when all this talk and BS about climate change was just a gleam in Uncle Al's lie-- um, I mean eye.

The Earth is going through a change and Alaska has been cold. I haven't worn hardly any shorts this year except indoors.  My cute sundresses have been hanging in the closet unworn.  Looks like soon they go back in storage for next year.  Hopefully we will have a small little bit of "global warming" in Sept.-Nov.  It usually starts to snow in Oct or December.  Heck every year is different and besides the ones that cry global warming the most are not exactly seen riding a bicycle.  Kind of like Al Gore that fatso in his big limos and jets.  LOL Polar Bears not having any place to go? Endangered?  For petes sake their population INCREASED!  The east coast scientists tell a different story than scientists from Alaska!

Of course global warminig, as caused by man, is utter lies and rubbish.  There are no facts to support it, the temperatures stopped rising back in 1998 (.6 of 1 deg. C in 100 years, not even noticeable), and man has no ability whatsoever to change the climate of the earth.  It's all about leftist politics...the socialists just want your money...watch out.

Billions of tons of carbons from factory smokestacks

Nuclear testing/bombs/waste

Rain forest clearing

Vehicle emissions

Nonporous pavement/urban sprawl

Factory farming

...have done nothing to affect our climate. After all, it's still cold in Michigan - so climate change can't be real!

All sane people know as fact that global warming is a myth! I don't think it is BS I know it is BS.

We need to put everyone weho actually believes in this nonsense in a mental institution. The facts are as follows:

The ice caps on both poles are actually remaining constant or increasing in 98% of the area.

The polar bear population is at an all time high.

The warmest year in recorded history is still 1934. This makes little sense if man made global warming actually existed.

The avg. temperature on Mars has been actually increasing at several time the rate odf earth's. I guess the Martians have not done a good job of  decreasing their carbon footprint.

The costs of fighting this non existant problem is estimated to be over a trillion US dollars. How many children could this feed in underdeveloped countries. So next time you promote this nonsense stop and think that you may be directly responsible for a child's death in Africa. I guess there are some people who are profiting from this cruel hoax and probably don't care but lets show the world that at least some of us are not ignorant and do not just follow the crowd without getting the facts.

The issue is not so much global warming, but climate change.

Anyway we will be better off by reducing our dependance on oil. And less pollution from emissions is good for everyone.

Better to do something about it than to sit and do nothing and hope it doesn't happen.

Anyway, it is not a sudden change. It is gradual compared to your lifetime.

Lots of people think AGW is BS.  There are also flat-earthers, young-earth creationists, and those who think ground-level rainbows are caused by HAARP.

Obviously the answer to your question is "Yes."  Yes, there are other people who think global warming is BS.

I'm not one of them, though.  Not at all.  I don't imagine I'll change your mind about global climate change -- "global warming" really is not as accurate as "global climate change"  -- even though I've read 1/2 dozen books on the subject.  

And even though the basic idea of global climate change has now been endorsed by national academies of science in 11 major countries, including the US.  And even though the basic theory is now also accepted by the National Academy of Sciences, scientific groups like the American Geophysical Union, and even (quietly) by the Bush administration.

If you don't want to believe in what most of the scientists are saying, you obviously don't have to.

But I wonder WHY you think that global warming aka global climate change is "BS."

Is it because you've had one cold summer on Lake Michigan, and you think this one summer wipes out a long-term climate trend?

Is it because somebody told you that it was BS -- somebody who may have an economic or political axe to grind -- and you've accepted this idea because you like the person?

Is it because you think that if climate change is real, you'll have to make unwelcome changes in your lifestyle in order to join with other people in fixing it?

Or is it because of your amazing scientific brain

Remember how the ice caps were supposed to melt this year for the first time ever?  Well according to aerial photos there is about 20% more ice up there than at this same time last year.  In about 5 more weeks the sun goes down up there an temperatures will start to plummet.  Tell me how many of these crackpot predictions have to fail to happen before they admit they were wrong?

Yes, there are a lot of crackpots who think global warming isn't happening (when it is), there are even more who think it is natural (when it's not) and people who think it is harmless (it very likely won't be).

Then you've got people who accept it but aren't willing to actually do anything about it (other than wasting money on wind turbines).

The "Global Warming" stuff has gone away to a degree just like acid rain, ozone holes and new ice age scares.. It is now hip and fashionable to call it "Climate Change". Not one liberal green person can give me a good answer when I ask them "what can the climate do that will not upset you and Algore?" There has never been anything constant about climate! It will never remain the exact same. The earth will always and has always been bouncing between ice ages and warm periods. There is nothing Gore can do to stop this. They say about 75,000 years ago a volcano erupted that sent us into a period of extreme cooling that almost whipped out humans. We couldn't do this if we wanted to. Extreme environmentalism is a form of Neo-Paganism that attracts people looking for a cause bigger than themselves.

No. I believe in global warming. There is just too much evidence so I do not understand how you can ignore it. And global warming isn't just the warming of the earth....it's also the glaciers melting and unusual temperatures. So just because the place you live isn't any warmer, that does not mean that the world is exactly the same too. If you simply do a little research about global warming, you will be surprised on how much of a big deal it actually is. Maybe not for you right now but for other generations. I suggest watching "the inconveniant truth". There are so many simple things to do to reduce the effects of greenhouse gases that lead to global warming. Simply turning off the lights when you leave a room, recycling, driving less and/or driving a hybrid/no emissions car. If you don't believe in global warming, you just need to look around and watch the news just a bit more so you can understand that there IS a problem. Another thing for those who believe that this is just the "natural cycle"...have you looked at scientific graphs? This is not natural. The steep inclination that is even steeper within the past decade or two is not supposed to happen. Again, global warming is NOT just warming but more like unusual weather patterns.

global climate change is in fact real. man made global climate change on the other hand is all about money and power. al gore wants you to buy carbon credits from him so he can make more money, and use that money to increase his political power so he can control more people. if man made global warming was truly an issue, then why is al gore still flying around in his personal jet? why, even after extensive green updates, does al gore use more electricity in one month than most people do in one year? in fact his electrical usage went up after the updates.
