I Noticed before a few months ago John Terry critcising other players and in particular Rio ferdinand when he didnt have the captains armband publically stating he wanted it back and that he fully deserved it.

When i seen recently that capello was deciding on a new captain i knew Terry would be whining to his manager and the england boss about being the captain and what do you know the news reports capello chose John terry and that scolari was trying to convince capello to give terry the armband, and now we have Terry on the back pages of the paper looking like a child with a power ranger toy in his hand.

Someone like Rio ferdinand who keeps his mouth shut in the media and leads by example of strong football should be the captain, Ferdinand it not the type of egotistical player who acts like a striker and steps up for penalities and loses teams champions leagues (cough terry).

John Terry is a fantastic player and i am neither a utd or chelsea fan but Would you agree that John terrys over inflated ego can damage thet team and i believe his ego can cause mistakes and this is not good for england as a captain who has influence over the team.

Do you think he should be captain?

  1. John Terry acted in a childish manor. But, I do not believe Rio Fedinand is fit to be England captain. Lets look at out starting-11 players:

David James (Never be captain, god help us)
Glen Johnson (Inexperienced, not old enough)
John Terry (Experienced, behaved in a poor manor)
Rio Ferdinand (Experienced, not trust worthy)
Ashley Cole (Experienced, injured most of the time)
David Beckham (Highly experienced, already been captain)
Frank Lampard (Experienced, never let England down)
Steven Gerrard (Experienced, but not a worthy captain)
Joe Cole (Experienced, can't really be named as captain just came back)
Wayne Rooney (Just too much pressure for the lad)
Jermaine Defoe (Hes got enough grief with family problems)

Frank Lampard is the only REAL player. David Beckham is old, still great but we cannot trust him as much as we used to. John Terry WAS a worthy captain, but now he spoiled it.
