Does anyone else think NBC is completely retarded?

Seriously, it is 2:30 am mountain time. I turn to NBC to catch some Olympics coverage, and what do I get... The women's gymnastics all-around which I watched 4 hours ago on a tape delay because NBC hates west coast and mountain regions. Both times I see the LIVE tag in the upper right corner of my screen.... It is 4:30 pm in Bejing, can I get a live event, or at least a different pre recorded event that isn't blasted all over espn.com before the competition even starts here?

  1. Nope. That what you and I get for living in the west. Yes that "LIVE" c**p is BS. But doesn't really matter if it's live to me actually. As long as it's not delayed for more than 24 hours. You can watch real LIVE streams on their nbc website.

  2. If you have windows you can watch live streams at nbcolympics.com... you have to download the Silverlight media player though because MS/NBC didn't have the common decency to use Flash.

If Silverlight doesn't work for you, or if you use linux, check my answers for a link I gave to a page where you can get tools to see the streams... I watched table tennis this evening instead of listening to Tim Dagget's whiny voice for 6 hours

  3. Hmm... I live in Honolulu & we get that all the time, not just during the Olympics.  Another reason to think they might be a bit off their rockers is giving Leno the boot for Conan O'Brien.

  4. yes, They hate the west coast lol... It's so awesome having live feeds this year.

  5. I Would Answer But I Live In Australia XD

  6. Yes, NBC has blown it again.

  7. My guess is that whole live start time they are trying to get it over here on the west coast is just so they can capture that 8pm prime time spot.  Personally I'm sick of only seeing American and Chinese athletes.  It has seemed in a lot of the events, the gymnastics especially, that the only people competing in the events are the chinese and americans.
