Question:

Does anyone else think Nastia Liukin's vault routine was underscored?

I know Nastia Liukin won gold (I was extremely happy...practically jumping up and down after that floor routine 'cause I knew she was going to grab the gold medal), but how did she end up with a 15.0 on her vault routine? She didn't even wobble or anything, and landed perfectly. And oddly enough, she got a higher score (15.1) for the qualifying round than she did in the all-around final. Her qualifying round vault routine wasn't nearly as perfect as the one that she did for the all-around final.

  1. I know.  She was awesome on the vault.  Her routine was flawless.  I think that the scoring has been very unfair.  For China they are getting great scores when they didn't do a great job.  It has been very bias but I am so happy that Nastia won.  I was crying right along with her.

  2. I was shocked to see her score.

I thought she deserved a higher score.

  3. I think so as it was an almost perfect routine...I mean look at her landing

  4. Absolutely. I'm no expert, but I couldn't see for what they deducted. And that landing! Truly breathtaking! I'm so happy she got gold.

  5. idk what happened but i also think she was really underscored.

she have shown balance and performed perfectly with grace.

but i just thank God she won the gold, she really, really deserves it.

  6. yes shawn johnson was robbed of that gold

  7. The scoring was very odd 3/4 of the time - unfair to Liukin and Johnson but somewhat merciful to other competetors who had a lot of mistakes.  I think we should just be glad they came in 1st and 2nd because I was highly doubtful in the beginning based on bogus scoring.

  8. yea! shes the best!!

  9. judges were hatorading

  10. First off there are different judges the ones from the qualifying round are not the same as the finals judges. Second with china hosting the olympics and there gymnast having won gold in all the previous gymnastic events they were trying to give it to china so they could pull off a sweep. Shawn Johnson & Nastia were both underscored but Shawn more so since she was the defending world champion.

  11. Yes.  She deserved a higher score.

  12. Whatever, she still got the gold.
