I have watched many of jacksons fights and I have noticed a huge hole in his game. he cant defend the thai clinch. he has been knocked out 3 times in the clinch. griffin just beat shogun shogun knocked rampage out cold. rampage is getting old MMA fighters have short shelf lives. I think forrest griffin has a better chance than what people think he has. I know he will be a huge under dog in this fight but if the odds are good enough im going to put 50 on griffin. anyone agree or am i stupid?

  1. it is possible. rampage has mentally checked out of fights in the past.

but no rampage should win easily.

  2. I was at the UFC where Shogun got submitted by Griffin so anything is possible. Griffin is a warrior who never gives up. You can never count him out. He has proven it too many times with unreal battles.

  3. Forrest has a chance because he is tough, but I am not sure he has faced someone as strong as Jackson before.  I guess we will see.

  4. Rampage always has the stamina and heart to go the 5 rounds. Forrest doens't have the power to knock forrest out....

  5. Forrest's team beat Rampage's on the Ultimate Fighter, but that's about the only way he's gonna beat Rampage. Forrest is gonna get beaten stupid.

  6. Yes, I do.  Griffin can fight out of a clinch, has a great work ethic and tons of heart.  I would put my money on Forrest, he has done some really amazing things.  Forrest wasn't supposed to beat Rua, but he did.

We have all seen the battles Forrest has been in and win or lose (rarely) he comes out in his own, inimitable way and makes the day.

It's never a dumb idea to bet on the long shot, just bet with money you can lose...although I don't think you're going to on this one.

  7. UR STUPID,  Rampage is a very different fighter now then he was when he fought shougun.  Also Shogun is different now then he was in pride.  When shogun fought Rampage he was tight plus pride has different rules then the UFC.  You said Forest just beat shogun but he got knock out 1st round by Keith Jard, Keith who, a nobody.  Wanderiei Silva  just destroyed jardine in 36 seconds, he was also destroyed by a no name called Huston Alexander in 48 seconds.  If you compare the fighters Jackson has fought in pride vs. the fighters Forest Griffin has its no contest.  Forest may run for a round like Chuck Liddell did, but the crowd will start booing and then he will try and throw hands with Jackson and then he will get knock the F out.  The fight will not go past 2 rounds, be smart  keep ur money.  Oh did u know that when Chuck fought  Rampage the second time Chuck had won his last seven fights in a row all by knock outs, 4 straight out KO's and 3 were TKO's.  Rampage TKO him  in 1:53 1st round.

  8. im with you.  if you get anything over 2/1 i would put my money on forrest.  this is a much closer matchup than 2/1.  should be a great fight.

  9. WAR FORREST!!! He has a good chance, he's got a strong chin, good boxing, surprisingly good jiujitsu, and great cardio. If he can avoid taking a perfect shot to the jaw the way Liddel did then he can win this thing.

  10. I think Forrest has a really good chance but I still think Rampage will take him, he may be the older than Griffin but if he comes out like he did in the Liddell fight, then Griffin going to need to be at his peak cardio and try and avoid his typical Rocky Balboa fight mentality where he gets beaten and just outlives the other fighter. Rampage looked possessed in the fight with Chuck and proved he, despite his age has the fight mentality needed to be champion.

  11. i think if forrest can avoid getting clocked he probably has the stamina to go hard for five rounds and win. i hope so cause i got $200 riding on him

  12. That's known as MMAth in certain quarters. I don't think Shogun's victory over Rampage a couple of years ago should have any reflection on the course of Griffin's fight with him. Rampage was NOT knocked out cold by Shogun, he was TKOed. You're thinking of Wanderlei Silva.

Going by your logic, Wanderlei Silva should have knocked out Chuck Liddell, seeing as Rampage knocked Liddell out.

Having said that, I think Griffin has a good chance. Rampage is basically riding off the back of his two title fights. I think Keith Jardine showed that Chuck Liddell has seen better days and Anderson Silva  made Dan Henderson look ordinary.

  13. well that's what is so great about mma-personally i am a HUGE griffin fan but i am trying to be objective-i think jackson is stronger and has a harder hit but i think griffin has the ground advantage and he is a freaking warrior-he will take the shots-so i don't think griffin is quite the underdog people are making him out to be-imo he and jackson are a good match and it might come down to who can last longer-and again it is mma so you never know-no one thought keith jardine would beat chuck liddell and he did so.....:) and saying griffin hasn't fought strong guys like rampage-well i guess tito, jardine, etc aren't strong?? wtf
