Question:

Does anyone else think that Obama & the sanctions on Iran aren't enough?

Iran's president and prime minister are not listening to the sanctions that have been put on them in the recent years.

Now its government is encouraging its nationals with US voting rights to endorse Obama for president, obviously for its own favor.

If Iran's not listening to the already peaceful "solutions" imposed against it, then what will make it stop persecuting its own people inlcuding women who have been raped, suspected g**s, and religious minorities?

  1. Obama has as much experience and ability in foreign affairs and diplomacy as Stalin had in touchy/feely relations.

Sanctions by the US will not work as we have no dealings with Iran.  Sanctions would work if the gimpy-backed Europeans got off their butts and applied tough sanctions as the Iranian economy depends on European trade.  It is about time Europe stands on their own feet rather then sucking off Americans and depending on America to do everything for them.

  2. I absolutely agree that the sanctions aren't working.  Obviously.  But, I don't think the right response would be to take a violent stance against Iran.

No, the peaceful solutions undertaken thus far have not worked, but we haven't employed every measure.  Many believe that if the US were to meet Iran on equal ground, incidentally a stance that Barack Obama is taking, then it would go a long way to helping Iran develop.  An embassy in Iran, for example, would be an excellent step.

In the past, President Ahmadinejad has offered to have discussions with President Bush.  Unfortunately, the Bush Administration did not take advantage of this opportunity.

I believe that treating Iran as a sovereign nation, instead of the mildy irritating pest we've been treating them as, is the first step toward good US-Iranian relations.

  3. All of it is a smoke screen Obama is putting up. He has no intentions of putting sanctions on or using any type of force against Iran. That's why they support him.......
