Question:

Does anyone else think that Republicans are in a win/win situation?

If McCain and Palin win the election, then not only will the Republican party have elected the first female Vice President , but the poor and middle class will also be able to sleep once again knowing that they are far less likely to be taxed into oblivion. (Also, if McCain is elected, it is very likely that Palin will one day be President given McCain's age. Even if he does not "kick the bucket," it is difficult to imagine him trying to run for reelection... which means that the first female Prez will also be a Republican. Heaven forbid...) It is not even unprecedented for a vice presidential nominee to be perceived as inexperienced... remember the mid-nineteenth century and Truman? EVERYONE said HE was too inexperienced, now he is considered to be one of our sixth or seventh greatest presidents (and the possibly the second or third greatest of the past century). No degree from Harvard or Yale? No problem. No MBA? No JD ? Yeah well, the buck stops here...

If Obama wins, even without mentioning that Democrats have controlled congress for the past two years, the Republicans will be able to do exactly what Democrats have been doing for the past EIGHT years: b*t*h and moan about how everything is the fault of the other side . Think about it. How many (D) careers and how many (D) millionaires have been made simply by bashing Bush and the republican party? Two can and I am sure will play at this game...

  1. No one who thinks it through.

  2. You are the only one on this one.

  3. I don't want to have to bit** about Obama, I just want him to go away.  We wont be able to bi*** if we are all dead!!!!

  4. Both republican candidates have restored a sense of dignity to to election run offs. In a kind manner, susan Palin did acknowledge the successes of women in politics citing hillary clinton and geraldine Ferraro. That is gracious. And I don't see her or mac slamming their opponents with misinformation. They stay on message and are stating what they intend to try to do as our leaders, while the Democrats are still screaming about the failed policies of bush. They never explain that with a hostile Democratic congress and senate that therein lies the problem, all for the party and nothing for us.

  5. McCain doesn't care about the poor and middle class and will do nothing to help them.  He thinks we are all just whining.

If Obama loses.Hillary will run against What's Her Name and will win for sure.

Obama won't tax the poor and middle class that is another McCain lie.

NO Way!  NO How!, NO McCain!

  6. McCain/Palin is what the Country need. An experience President with a young smart Lady for VP.....

    McCain/Palin for REAL CHANGE!!!!!

  7. Taxed into oblivion?

That's as far as I could read.

You obviously don't know anything about Obama's plan.

Do you make over 250,000$ a year?

    Divide 250,000 by 12.

    Then divide it by four.

    Is that your weekly salary?

If not, then your taxes won't be raised.

  8. How exactly will I as a working class guy be able to sleep better at night knowing McCain/Palin believe people making over 2.9 million dollars a year deserve a tax break more than I do. While I'm going without the medication I need because its too expensive and I can't afford to drive my car to work I'll be very happy knowing some CEO somewhere is getting a $300,000 tax return check in May.

  9. I just love that scenario and life is stranger than fiction, all is possible in this great country!

  10.   The deep pressure is now on Obama like NEVER before and YES I believe it is a win/win scenario for McCain/Palin.   And the best part of all this is that possibly nOW Obama will have to "produce" some hard info and facts about his great "change" and we will see typical "slips of the tongue" revealing yet another fallacy and deception of this "man".

  11. The 40's is not the same thing as today. You need to have a president who understands the problems of the 21st century not a president who's stuck in the 20th century. McCain is stuck in the 20th century in my opinion.

Truman was a good president because he was down to earth guy who worked hard his entire life. He was a real honest man with good morals and values. Bush is the complete opposite of that and so is McCain

By the way, about the whole Democrats in Congress thing, you have a lot of nerve talking about Democrats moaning. You Republicans are moaning about a Congress that's only been in control for the past two years. The Republicans were in control of Congress before November 2006,and they didn't do anything. They supported Bush's policies and passed his failed policies. So to blame Democrats for what is happening now is ludicrous. Yes,Democrats have done nothing that they promised they would, and it's disappointing. They deserve the 9% approval rating, but they also don't have a majority in Congress to override a presidential veto. Both sides are not willing to compromise. It's both their fault not just the Democrats

  12. Excellent question/statement. Very foresighted. Thank you.

  13. It forces Obama to actually start providing some of his promised change, and clarifying what that change is.

  14. Ha hA.. YOU MEAN McCAIN'S MIDDLE CLASS.. you have to make 500,000.00 dollars to be a Middle class Person in his sight.. I don't hardely think that is any of us on here.. 100,000.00 is down right poor... so yeah they will sleep well why the blue class worker and lower white class workers get pushed on the foodstamps and welfare.. sound like a winner to me..

  15. Give me a break. McCain is a loser and his VP pick is a joke.

  16. Right on!

  17. You forgot to include the best option. Obama wins and we go back to Caring about Americans like the 90's and in 8 years we may have gotten over Republican hate leave them out of the White House forever.

  18. who has more experience Barack Obama the senator who never finished his 1st term?or Sarah Palin who not only finish her 1st term as a senator but is now governor of a state?

  19. From my viewpoint, yes. Lets hope most others agree.

  20. Yes, certainly

  21. But if Obama wins Germany, France and Canada will like us again. Dont you want to feel the luv from some Frenchy?

  22. The poor and middle class will be able to sleep again? So...they haven't been sleeping for eight years? If they haven't...I wouldn't expect things to go all your way in November.
