Does anyone else think that Sophie's Choice is a heavy book for a freshman in high school?

Sophie's Choice is one of the options we have to read for honors english freshman year...do you think that its too advanced for that age?

  1. hmm it was on my reading list too but i didn't read it. it's pretty hard to understand from what i've heard. maybe u should wait some time before reading it.  


  2. Not really, It is the honors class. And it's just an option, you can choose not to read it and read something else.  

  3. Yes, actually, I do think the subject matter is above what a high school freshman should be reading. Not that it's too hard, but there are so many other great books out there for ninth graders to read and learn from.

    If it troubles you to read it, have your parents call the high school counselor or principal to complain about the book choice.
