Here is the story if you don't know it.

So, Miley Cyrus and her dad were riding in the BACK of a vehicle and now they are getting criticized for not wearing seatbelts. Well the law says you don't have to wear one in the back, so what is the big freaking deal?

The best part is that the article states that 65% of 13-16 year olds killed in car wrecks were not wearing seat belts.

Well how many were in the back? How many of them were in the front? How many were drunk driving accidents? It doesn't say? Well that is convienient. Another example of "stretched" stats.

I wish the thought police would stop and find something better to do. Am I the only one who is tired of all of this?

If they broke the law I would understand but they didn't.

  1. it's not the police, it's a freaking magazine, they just think that they could had made a good example by wearing them (wich is in fact true), but it really is not a big deal

  2. i think seat belts should be mandatory for all occupants for this reason. what if i am wearing one and you are not, we get into a collision, your body is flying around the cabin and possibly hitting and injuring me. You negligence will cause me bodily harm or possible death on top of the collision itself. This is just my opinion for what it is worth.

  3. yeah it is ridiculous but you know how it is with hollywood. an actress farts and suddenly it's front page

  4. lol That is sooooo lame.

    Stupid media >_>

    Who cares?

    The car wasnt even moving

  5. I agree with you 100 percent but this might help sell more records and clothes for her.

  6. She's considered a role model, especially to the impressionable little ones and those that want to emulate someone they look up to.  Christ, I used to wear white T-shirts and jeans to look like the Fonz.  I broke a lot of things around the house when I was a kid, trying to get them to start up like the Fonz' jukebox.  I just wanted to be like him.  However, if a kid doesn't want to wear a seatbelt, that is all on the parent.  I got in a wreck long ago and wasn't wearing a seatbelt.  That changed my mind.

  7. A lot of states are leaning towards the 'Click It or Ticket' law which I feel is needed everywhere, and applies to everyone in the vehicle. Especially if you are someone that children and pre-teens look up to as an idol. I think that it is rediculous that people get mad about the publicity this has caused. As someone kids look up to she and her father should present themselves better in public.

Seat belts save lives. If she were in an accident where she was hurt or died would you then say that she should have had her safty belt on?

  8. okay..I don't really care what they do on their own time, but from what I read, this is in a disney movie? Is that right?

If so then it's because young girls simply love her and she is a roll model when she's acting, or singing or whatever she does(not on her own time).

I also wouldn't want to have my 2 year old watch Elmo skateboard holding on to the bumper of a car...make sense? Then my 2 year old might see nothing wrong with that and think I'm being silly for enforcing saftey.

  9. who cares!  at least she wasnt drinking/coked out and driving like most of those girls.

  10. What I find interesting is that when I was a kid, the seat belts in the backseat were pushed down behind the cushions (you had to go 'fishing' to find them).  This was pretty common for the times.  Amazingly, I survived as a child growing up in such a horrid time :0)

Don't get me wrong, I think seatbelts are great and should be worn at all times in a motor vehicle.  I just think this incident was blown way out of proportion.

  11. nobody wears seatbelts in the back. media sucka and they have nothing better to do and find flaws in other people. the media crew does not even wear seatbelts in the front. lol

  12. Right on, it's ridiculous.

So, Miley and her legal guardian can't ride in a car going normal speed without seatbelts, but everyone else in Hollywood does blow? Lohan, Brit, the HS Musical kids, and all other Disney darlings take wreckless to the extreme--do we have any time left for Miley's lap strap?

    Stupid.

  13. In what state do you live in where you dont have to wear a seatbelt in the back seat? In Colorado and California it is the Law. Buckle up.

  14. Ive argued over this before. Above a certain age it should be the passengers choice whether or not they want to wear a seatbelt. Many people  have died for wearing one that got jammed after collision....so its really just a personal choice at the 3end of the day in your own vehicle.

  15. I believe this is utterly ridiculous! No harm done, no foul! So why freak out? Because they're running out of things to gossip about! people are people no matter how talented, how pretty, or how much money you have, you are a human just like the rest of us and should be treated like the rest of us! famous people are no different from the people that live down the street from you! but that neighbor isn't all over the news for going out to a party! being famous is stupid! we are all people and should all be treated the same way! you wont catch me drooling over some movie star!

  16. I'm not familiar with the law where they are but here in Montana every passenger has to have a seat belt on.  But yes, I do think the police and media make too much of a big deal over things like this.

  17. yup

  18. the great news with this trash bull-sh%t is, her dad seems to love her so much and doesnt seem to sell her out like the other parents of these teen stars gone bad have done( need I mention any names?).....I think she will turn out ok and life will go on..  there will always be someone that wants to turn **** around and make something out of nothing.....do you think I went ape sh%t because Shrek got Fiona pregnant in the 3rd movie and my kids happen to think he is cool.  Look at the percentage rates of children pregnant under 8. (yes seems so ridiculous huh?!)  People are so warped and screwy that everyone else is to blame for their own stupidity.

  19. It's a freaking movie, and not a single kid watching the movie is going to notice whether there is a seat belt or not, they are going to be focused on Hanna Montana!

Plus, nobody wears seatbelt in the car until they are actually going to be moving.
