Does anyone else think the Russians are insane for threatening a nuclear strike on Poland?

Talk about rolling the clock back! I thought the Cold War was over.

It's almost as if they are itching to start WW III. I mean it's not like anyone is putting nuclear missiles in Poland. They are putting ANTI-MISSILE missiles in Poland. Shouldn't a country be able to have defensive weapons that protect them from other countries' offensive weapons? And how is that in any way an excuse for the Russians to nuke them?

What kind of psychos would make even make such a threat?

The USA are psychos. They knew signing the anti missile deal with poland would spark a reaction from russia. Giving the americans exactly what they want. They obviously love wars (america)

The same kind of psychos that would install the ultimate first strike weapon on Russia's borders? Anti-missile systems are essential if you plan a first strike, since they at least have a chance of shooting down the small number of retaliatory missiles that survive your first strike. This is why they were outlawed during the Cold War. There's NOTHING defencive about them, and the Russians have every reason to be worried. If Russia tried to install such a  system in Cuba or Mexico the USA would go ape ****.

The USA routinely threatens people with nuclear attack, I assume you are calling them psychos too?

The Russians are very angry with the US right now. That anger is interfering with their judgment. Likewise, Bush is very angry with Russia right now, and that anger is interfering with his judgment.

It was the wrong time for the US and Poland to sign the deal.

It was the wrong time for Russia to threaten anyone else.

Honestly, I'm starting to get worried. When Bush and Putin were acting like rational human beings, there was no chance of the conflict escalating. But they seem to have gone past reason, and are now insisting on trying to outdo each other.

Hmm... Who's bright idea was it to install the missile shield? USA. That makes the USA infinitely more crazy than Russia.
