So like...the Mayans and everyone like that said that the world was going to end in 2012. Well-the earthquake in China, The Cyclone in Myanmar, Global Warming, Nuclear Weapons, Rising prices on everything...any coincidences? It's sooo coming.

  1. The mayan calendar to this day is only seconds off of the military and naval clock, they have accurately dated every phase of the moon up until this day.  The funny thing about December 12, 2012 is that Earth will be in the galactic center of the Milky Way for the first time in over 26,000 years, this could cause many awkward things to happen to the earth such as a change in polarity.  Will it happen? who knows.  but it isnt fair to say the Mayans didnt know what they were talking about, they did things astronomically that we couldnt do again without the use of high technology.  and it is proven that the calendar was supposed to stop on this day because of the countless references that mayans made to it, supposably the mayans had this calendar passed down to them by another tribe called to Olemecs and therefore removes the possibility that the calendar only stopped there because it was left unfinished

  2. yes a tramp that walks down our high street with a placard.....however he never predicts that he is going to need the toilet at some point as he always shiits himself

  3. Jehova's Witnesses have predicted Armageddon to many dates. One of the silliest was that the generation from ww1 should see it. Now most of them have died for natural reasons, so 2012 has been chosen for Armageddon, though other Witnesses now say 2034. It can at least not happen earlier - I've already sent the invitations for my 60 yr birthday October 2013.

So forget all about it and just live your life.

  4. Bibles scholors say the 1940's was the final generation. Who knows how long a biblical generation lasts. In the New Testament, countless verses refer to the fact that Jesus returns to save Isreal from destruction. Isreal did not become a state until 1948. Revelations accounts about in the end, where a third of the world is destroyed, a third of the population is killed, and peoples flesh is burnt off their body where they stand. Sounds like nuclear war. The first nuclear bomb was dropped in 1945.

  5. This is not really a scientific question.

Perhaps you should put it in R&S or Polls and Surveys.

  6. I think it is coming but not in my life time....hopefully...i wouldn't really depend on the mayan calendar because who's to say that they stopped the calendar at 2012 because thats when they were conquered and disappeared...if they were never conquered and didn't mysteriously disappear then, maybe the calendar would not have stopped at the year 2012...but yeah the world is going to come to an end because nothing lasts forever.

  7. Oh yeah, such major disasters.

The world has never seen death on such a scale!!!

*cough black  death and bubonic plague cough*

  8. 2012 is not a catastrophe at all. Haven't you ever thought about the guy who was "making the mayan calander", and thought he might of just stopped on december 12 just to go out for a coffee break or something? Many people have been predicting the end of the world, and hey were sitll here. The things you should be more afraid about is your family, you friends, your bills, robberies, and the more important things.

Remember yesterday, dream about tomorrow, but live for today.

  9. ummm  nope, it's not coming, there have been disasters throughout history and crazies thought the world was coming to an end then too.
