Question:

Does anyone else think this election is a joke?

I consider myself a moderate...I side with issues on both sides of the political spectrum. I sincerely think that the Bush administration has divided this country (though it may just appear that way to me since I only started caring about politics since I turned 18...6 years ago)

From what I've seen in the media, and through research, it seems all Republicans do is bash Obama, yet, they don't say how McCain is going to do any better. And all I see Obama do is talk, yet, I just see him as an empty suit that is told what to do by the party. (Remember Bush anybody?)

As far as V.P.'s go, I think Biden suits well, as is probably more qualified for president more than Obama. And who the heck is Pahlin? If McCain dies, is she suited for president?

I just think everything about this election is backwards? Is anyone else with me?

  1. This election is the biggest farce I have ever seen.  Neither major party has been able to supply a valid candidate.  What a pitiful sight we are to the rest of the world, like a bunch of monkeys in a cage.

McCain is the least of the evils, so I guess that's where we will go.

  2. That's why I'm still undecided.  As an independent and generally centrist, I am at a loss this time.  Obama's biggest qualification is that he ran a successful campaign.  OK, but is that *really* a qualification to run the country?   Plus, I am furious and a bit bewildered that he ignored the people's choice and passed over Hillary as VP.  He has offered no explanation for this and assumes that her supporters will faithfully fall in line with whatever the party decides: WRONG!

As for McCain, he has a record of going against the norm and I like that.  However, I don't like the idea that he seems to be compromising so much with the right wing (although I realize it's necessary for him)

So, I'll be watching the RNC closely.  Thank you for your service to our country and come home safely.

  3. yea i agree - its all messed up

but face it- the best of the worst is mccain

    MCCAIN 08!

  4. I'm an independent moderate as well.  I supported Hillary before.  I now support McCain.  Energy is the most important issue to me.  As a moderate, I say McCain is the way to go.  McCain isn't a joke.  Palin isn't a joke.  Biden isn't even a joke.  The joke here is Obama, the most unqualified head of a ticket since Horace Greeley.  He is less qualified than both McCain and Palin!  I wouldn't say this election as a whole is a joke, just the ridiculous man the Democrats put into it.

  5. I'm waiting to see Ross Perot in a clown suit to comming rolling up in a little car any day now

  6. A moderate is a liberal with a yellow streak down their back.  I like McCain's VP choice.  I think she would be a better president than anyone running.  I think they should have raised the voting age to 25 instead of lowering it to 18.  An IQ test wouldn't hurt.

  7. America never disappoints...too bad I thought you would actually redeem yourselves this time around...no offense to the sane ones stuck in that moose trap.

I'M waiting for someone to prove this woman was actually pregnant...no luck so far!!

    6th article today on this....

Just what you needed at this critical state of world affairs.....

And they pick on poor Obama...the only one whose been honest and true...yeah so he made a mistake or two..but he never DECEIVED anyone the way the rest of these jokers have.

    .

  8. This country is headed for a political meltdown. If we all stopped and actually used out heads we'd all see that all we ever hear is bullcrap. We listen to Democrats talk about social security, public schools, and socialized medicine, however, these same politicians get to opt out of SS, won't use socialized medicine if their lives depended on it, and send their kids to private schools. Republicans, on the other hand, talk tough but cower in the corner when the chips are down.

  9. Obama has demonstrated that he is charismatic.  The over 200,000 people who came out to see him when he visited Europe was evidence of that, and along with that the over 80,000 people who packed the Denver football stadium showed that.  Look, the man has to have something--- and I believe we have to understand that our image abroad has been dimmed.  We need new leadership.  I believe Obama will strive with all of his might to make our lives better.  It is not his color or his background, it is his vision.  I can't knock Palin because I don't know a lot about her, however, I see her as a l00% dedicated mom.  McCain should have respected her motherhood and not even asked a woman with 5 children to tear herself away from her primary job of being a good mother, which I am sure she is.  Palin is not Hillary, and she can never be a Hillary.  Hillary stands alone in her own spotlight, and that no other woman can share--- Toni D.

  10. that why i am exercising my right to not vote. low trun out will send the strongest message.

  11. I'm with you on the Palin issue, that was a big mistake, and the elections just turned into a reality show to me

  12. This has been the most depressing election year.  Truthfully I was hoping Guillani would of won.

Every person running does not give me the warm fuzzy.   Obama...just scares me with his afflilation to a pastor who detests white americans, he talks too smoothly and it worries me (Hitler was an incredible speech giver also).  Biden..I have known about since before he was elected in Deleware..not impressed and a little repulsed by him.  McCain..can be wishy washy.  Pahlin..Don't know her..but I never had heard of Obama either before this election year.

yeah..I'm pretty well disgusted this year.

  13. I disagree , if you are a moderate then why would you not support McCain who through his many years in congress has always worked with both side of the aisle? McCain Is a little to moderate for me , however with Sarah Palin as his VP she may bring some good old American values back into this country. She is a conservative who is a very strong minded woman. she has more Administrative experience than Obama , Biden or McCain . She was a mayor of a town with a population of over 5000, she is the Governor of the largest land State in america with a 90% approval rating . She is a mother of 5 children which I would imagine is very difficult and her son is in the army and is headed to Iraq.

  14. No.

  15. No, this election is historical, do you realize that the next president will sit the agenda for the next 30 years. He will selected possibly three Supreme Court Justices(woman and minorities need to think about that) We also have census coming up in the next two years, the party that's in-charge of house will select Congregational seats for the country.

  16. i do

  17. I agree I think everyone has been brain washed.  I would only say that I think palin has about the same experience as  Obama.  Since Obama has been running for President his whole time in the Senate.  I'm so ready for it to be over.

  18. Unfortunately, yes, we are going to get stuck with another president that does nothing for this country.  I'm not voting, because to me it doesn't even matter this year.

  19. McCain turned it into a joke when he picked a member of the PTA to be a VP. This tells you about the type of decision making skills to expect from McCain.

    Obama/Biden '08 - - The alternative is a joke!

  20. unfortunately most elections are.

  21. It's definitely not a joke.

  22. I'm waiting for a new party to run. LOL.

In the meantime..if I'm going to have a 4 year transitional stage president I'd rather have McCain than Obama.

  23. i agree. But what i see McCain offering is that he isnt Obama and wont try taking away my rights and that he isnt a communist. I respect obama as a person but i could NOT as our president.
