I found that someone has already defined it on urbandictionary, after spending years thinking that it was only used between my friends and I. (It's just a general angry noise, if anyone wants to take it up.)

  1. The word gree means pleasure, goodwill, satisfaction.  More specifically, it is a legal term.  "It signified satisfaction; as, to make gree to the parties, is, to agree with, or satisfy them for, an offence done."

I have never heard the word used.  Therefore, I imagine that it's used only as a legal term.
