Hi all!

So my daughter is just over a year old & she has been doing these peculiar things

1. shes been giving "stink face" to people-like people she knows too not just random strangers - like this rolling her eyes "You guys are lame losers" kind of look

2. sometimes she'll just lay herself down onto her back & just lay there-not really moving just lay there for about a minute & then carry on like nothing happened ( she blinks & doesn't shake or anything-just kind of lays there..)

She did this this morning when I was dropping her off at daycare - I don't think its her "protesting" or throwing a tantrum for me leaving her there b/c sometimes she just randomly does it at home too - it wigs me out though-does anyone else have a baby that does this?

We have a well check appt tonight & of course I'm going to mention it so please no rude "why don't you ask your doc" answers

thanks =)

  1. I'm just going to throw this out there, since you have a doc appointment anyway.  Ask him about seizures.  That's the first thing I thought of, not only because of the rolling eyes, but because of the lying still, then getting up like it nothing had happened.  I would think if it had been a tantrum you would have gotten at least crying or yelling, and at her age she's a little young for tantrums anyhow.  So, yeah, ask your doc.  And good luck!

  2. My son is 15 months, and sometimes he gives us a face like that. I don't think it's meant as a negative look, but rather he's just figuring out the different things he can do with his face.

    And he will just lay down on the floor a lot too. I'd say at least a few times a day. He just lays on his back and looks around. And after a little while, he'll just get back up and go about playing or whatever. I think it's probably the equivalent of us adults sitting down on a couch - they're just taking a little break. =)

  3. I sometimes lay on my back motionless also. I do it because I'm ether thinking or tired. If she's sleeping well and still does this it means she's thinking about things. She could be thinking about anything from what she did that day to the meaning of life. Once she can talk ask her what she's thinking about and you may be pleasantly surprised.
