  1. Many are soured on him for obvious reasons (extra-marital affair, Diana's unhappiness, etc.). But you know what? He's obviously done something right in regards to his sons. They seem to sincerely love him and they are impressive young men with keen senses of humor, good minds and surprisingly well adapted. So my hat is off to Charles in that regard.

  2. I used to, but the way he treated Diana, esp over an ugly dog like Camilla, eroded any pity or good feelings I had for him. His behavior was inexcusable.

I do sort of feel sorry for him though, because he has trained all his life to be King of England, but Elizabeth sees the character flaws in her son and will never give up the throne to him...she would have done so long ago. The role seems destined now for William.

  3. Nope....because he messed over Diana very bad with that "person" (I'm trying to be polite) he is with.

  4. i don't have an opinion on prince charles but since he cheated on diana and has quite a sour attitude i assume not many people will like him.

  5. im not a fan. but diana was a mess to begin with. all this diana worship is silly.

  6. I have been exposed through, through the media, to a lot of Prince Charles' faults, which don't particularly endear him to me. On the other hand I have never been exposed to your faults, and you haven't been exposed to mine.  That puts him at a bit of a disadvantage, doesn't it?

    EDIT:

I do appreciate his environmental concerns.

  7. Well, as I don't know Prince Charles it's hard to say if I would like him as a person. I have heard he can be very formal, even with close friends, and I am not that sort of person so it would be difficult.

However, as a public figure he is a mixture of good and bad, and unfortunately the good is often forgotten because of the many scandals involving his private life.

Of course the whole matter of his marriage could have been managed much better. I'm sure there are many who are not the Prince who could say the same thing about their own marriages! It is interesting though that his sons obviously adore him and have made his second wife welcome ~ this is NOT something which is easy to fake, so he must be doing somethign right.

It is not widely enough known that he is personally involved in assisting homeless youth through his charity, which gives young people training and practical help to lead independent lives, he is involved in scouting, he is a leading proponent of organic gardening and ecology, he is also an expert on the conservation of historic buildings and often speaks on the need to have better aesthetics in design of towns and cities.

There is no doubt that Princess Diana was very young to die and that her life had many elements of tragedy, but many people have gone through similar marital difficulties, without the cushion of vast wealth and the love of the public to sustain them.

I think Prince Charles will have to live with the consequences of the 'Diana Years', but she has been dead for a decade and the world moves on.

    Cheers :-)

  8. I thoroughly agree with the point made by Mr. Ed. !!

Some years ago I was responsible for the PR of an important theatrical venue(not in the UK) where the Princes of Wales were representing their country at a big musical extravanganza. This was around 1992,very trying times for that marriage. Princess Diana was sulky and morose to the point of being ill mannered while Prince Charles worked very hard at being polite, correct, affable and even amusing. The end of a marriage is never easy or nice for anyone. Diana seemed to want to make it as unpleasant as she could for everybody around her too while Charles was more considerate of his hosts.
