  1. Yes a lot of Customers. I have to deal with many every day as a Station Supervisor.

Could be lost items, lost tickets, missed stops, over slept past stops, disruption on service, poor service by someone else, poor communications, having a bad day, etc, etc.

Best thing to do is just take a deep breath, count to ten, and if like me your on the recieving end smile, nod and sympathise with the customer, but also try to help. As a passenger when I am travelling around, then its a case of ignore the overhead announcements unless they are made locally (easy to tell the differance) or ask a member of staff in a calm way, after all 99% of the time it is not our fault and we often only know a problem like yourselves at the last minute.

  2. other passengers. bother me. a lot.

  3. In Britain most of our long distance trains have a "quiet" carriage where the use of mobile telephones and stereo equipment is prohibited, the idea being people can work or sleep in peace. However, there is wholesale and selfish ignoring of the rules in this carriage and I get very angry.

  4. no, not unless it someone causing trouble and it's annoying me.

  5. of course.  mainly because they can't get on them.  I regularly use the trains along the south coast from portsmouth to cardiff.  This is a busy route yet the trains only ever have 2 carriages, nowhere near enough for the number of passengers that use the route, so unsurprisingly people get quite worked up (especially when the price keeps rising with no change to service)

  6. Yes because of the cost.

  7. When ever I get on a train  it seems that every single child within a ten mile radius has to get on and start screaming and causing havoc.

That's what gets me really aggravated.

  8. Nope....but then I`ve only used a train once (in  the UK) in the past 30yrs and that was enough to put me off FOR EVER.A filthy cattle truck could best describe the standard of that service (Ramsgate to Charing Cross)
