Question:

Does anyone ever take a break from work when stressed?

I call taking a break from work a mental health day. I do this every now and again when ever I feel the stress get to me. In fact I called in today even though we are busy and had to lie that I was physically sick. I feel kind of bad for doing this, but at the same time I feel really good that I'm taking care of myself. Does anyone else do this when their mental illness starts getting the best of them?

  1. No, when I get stressed I push myself harder! Because if i push myself to the absolute limit then it feels better when I get to the weekend or I'm done with my work, I feel like I accomplished something. If I skip work just because it is hard and stressful then I feel as though I failed myself. I'm very competitive and if everyone else can make it to work, then they must be stronger than me when I can't.
