  1. I have been tried to be scammed and its gotten to a point where they actually call me!!  Especially on Craiglist for some reason.  I was selling a computer and some guy called me and told me he was interested, but he needed the computer asap....He told to send the computer today and he will send the payment today and an email with a picture of the money order or reciept to show he sent money.  Obviously im not dumb and was not going to send something without the money first.  Anyways, people are dumb enough to do that and thats where they get robbed.  The other thing is, if u are going to buy a car or something, alot of people are getting robbed when they meet in person, the personal actually robs or attacked buyers!!!  BE AWARE!!!

  2. The posts you see for really cheap cars will never be local.  You will be contacted by someone who allegedly is overseas, out of the country, or thousands of miles away.  They will claim that they have to sell the car immediately, thats why its so cheap.  They will tell you that they have an account at Yahoo Finance, Ebay, or some other bogus escrow company to make you feel like its legit.  Then they say to deposit money in this account and they will ship the car.  Once it arrives,  you will have 5  days to inspect it.  If you are unhappy, say so and hte car goes back, and the escrow company releases your money.  They will pay for shipping to, and from, y ou if you are not happy.

People fall for this over and over.  Here is a link to someone on this forum who recently fell prey off cars.com http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

If it seems too good to be true - it is.

  3. I actually use http://www.stumblehere.com- a free classified ad website.  It's a lot like craigslist and very easy to use.

  4. You never get the chance to meet them face to face. The scammers always have a way of not being available to do this type of transaction. They rely on greed to steal money. They figure there are people dumb enough to believe the story they tell and won't investigate before sending the money. Unfortunately, they are right. I have read of people being suckered out of thousands because they found a "deal" they couldn't pass up.

  5. well, 1st off i know what you mean..

haha i see those all the time and i flag them..

you cant actually get a hold of that person anyway

idk who posts them but, i wouldnt consider it robbing
