I constantly feel like I won't remember when she was born, when she was little, what she looked like. I want to capture these days in my mind, not only in pictures. Once again I feel like time is going to drive me crazy!

  1. you will never forget.

the details might start to get a bit muddled, but you will never forget that feeling, that face and that love.

  2. I feel like that too.  Since my sons birth I've taken bits of time here and there and gotten it all down on paper.  From the pregnancy to the birth right up until today.  This is just for me so I put in all the hairy details.  I want to remember everything, including the pain and the gross stuff so this helps.

    congrats on your new addition:)

  3. Sounds like your baby is still little right? From experience I felt the same way too but as my kids got older and I started getting more sleep and things started falling in place I started realizing that I could remember things easier. It all just goes back to lack of sleep and so much going on right now. Once things start calming down in a couple of months or so you wont feel like daily things are pushing your most precious memories out of you memories.

Good luck and I hope this helps

  4. You're probably not gonna remember every single detail of your childs firsts. As they get older new firsts are gonna be coming in as well. Your not a bad mother if u don't either. I remember most things about my 16 mth old daughter when she was born. some of the memories isn't detailed or completely therew its a lil fuzzy. That's why when she does something I want to remember even if its the smallest thing I write it in her baby book and scrapbook I made for her. Becuz I want to remember everything. When I write it I put every detail so when I go back it'll refresh my memory and it always does and it starts pouring out about that moment. I know there are going to be plenty more memories with my daughter. I take tons of pictures each month so I can tell how much she's changed and grown. She's my life and I want to hold as much as I can of her before she gets older and leaves the nest. I hope this helps a little bit.

  5. My baby is 15 weeks old and I can't remember anything she did which was longer than one week ago. You have what we call in our house as "Baby Brain." It's just because you have so much on your mind and so much to do you never get time to just sit and think. In years to come it will all come flooding back. As long as you have pictures you'll be fine. Also make a scrap book for jotting down milestones. But trust me, you are not alone.

  6. I do! My daughter is 6.5 weeks, and already she has changed so much!  I want to remember her first smile, her first bath, everything!  So, I let the housework slide so that I can spend as much time with her as I possibly can.  The dishes will still be in the sink tomorrow, but my baby will never again be 6.5 weeks again!

  7. You will remember the most important things.  And you will also have photos and other mementos.  You will forget many of the details, but fortunately they will be replaced with more current - and equally wonderful - memories.  :)

  8. It's a lot of excitement to take in all at once, kind of overwhelming.  But you'll remember more than you'll forget.  Don't worry so much.
