  1. my family lives right next to broussard middle. (grew up in lafayette! ) im not there at this moment and i am very scared for my parents there in broussard. i beg them to leave and go to st landry parish with other family. i know even opelousas isnt that safe.but lesser then broussard.

just think fellow cajun...... the had manatory evacuation for new ibera........not far from whee ur at? dont u remember new ibrea from before.........and then think that it wasnt a direct hit. i think what they r saying that the storm will come in right here......not to the left or right. but right by new ibrea.

u should leave to be sure. it is what i beg my family. i am giving you the same advise i am giving my parents get out for a while-----------------------------------...

just saw latest reports and it is saying it will make landfall in vermillion bay..........  which puts broussard in direct path and harms way. more so then rita or katrina. with both they were from the side where as this one is straight up the coast for u. got this from the Daily world web site. (st. landry parish newpaper)

  2. Leave if you're scared.  When your gut tells you to do something you should do it.  I'm not there but I'd sure leave.  No one knows *exactly* where the storm will hit.  It could change course a little bit at the last minute.

If you leave, what is the worst that can happen?  You will be inconvenienced for a few days.  If your house makes it through the storm just fine, that is great, no harm done.

If you stay, what's the worst that can happen?  You could die.

  3. Well I don't live there so I'm sorry for answering but I just have to say please get out while you can.. Your life is much too important to risk like this, yes your boyfriend might be right but what if he is not? I think it is a real big gamble to stick around and I hope you and your bf and family stay safe. Good luck to you!
