Question:

Does anyone flash their headlights after a semi has passed them, letting its okay to come into the other lane.

  2. i used to drive a semi and always appreciated it when i'd let them know that they can get back over and then visa versa. thank them for the kindness. it also helped keep us awake at night also. good show you guys

    A 25' box van I drove also had a marker interrupt, so I could thank the drivers that had flashed lights to let me know I was clear to move in front of them. It turned the truck's marker lights off when pressed.

    If you've ever driven a big truck, box van, or towed a large trailer, it should be instinctual.

  8. yes i do....and as ex trucker it can be very helpful especially when it is raining and lots of spray coming of the trailer.

  11. Yes, I do all the time when I'm driving the middle Atlantic states especially when the trucker indicates they desire to change into my lane.

  13. sure do,  I also will turn on my blinker letting them know they are clear to pass, and I also warn them of police, and road hazards, deer in road, ext. My dad is a truck drive, I have a lot of respect for them especially when on the road!

    so yes it is for the safety of the oppertor and will continue to do this on the road.

  16. I always have.  When I'm pulling my toy hauler (29ft), I appreciate it when someone else does it for me.

  17. yup sure do, my dads a truck driver and always told me to do that as a courtesy, if you notice they do it for you too ;-)

    I have often traveled with packs of Semi's when driving late at night long distance. The watch the cops over networking and we all speed! lol
