  1. I love thrift stores!  Most people think they have dirty clothes for needy people, but I love the vintage pieces I sometimes acquire there.  As long as it doesnt smell or is stained, furniture from the Salvation Army is the way to go!

  2. I ALWAYS buy used furniture, but, sadly, I am afraid of the Salvation Army stuff.  I ONLY buy from used furniture stores that can PROVE to me the stuff has been fumigated.

  3. I am an interior designer, and a frequent shopper at the salvation army. I go for furniture pieces, because they get them from estate sales, and when there is a vacant apartment, and things like that. The furniture is always in great condition or just needs alitte tender loving care. I have bough pieces, repaired them and gave them as gifts to clients to complete a room! They love them, and I love salvaging perfectly good furniture....also it's a great "green" solution! I'm glad you asked!

  4. Clean furniture well for bed bugs. Especially in fabric or beds, mattresses. You can get good deals at some of them. Just clean well...
