Could SKP look up a marriage entry for Bridget Cuddy and Thomas Johnson, Quebec, on Ancestry Canada please.

I have found the entry, but only belong to Ancestry UK.

Thomas was born in 1818 Essex and Bridget was born 1820 County Roscomman, Ireland.

Thomas was in the British Royal Artillery and was posted there 1838 to 1845.

I'll be over the moon if it's the right couple.

Many thanks,

Mardi.

  1. hi mardi,

i found their record of marriage in the drouin collection (quebec vital records):

married 10 august 1841: "thomas johnson of quebec, bachelor, and bridget cuddy of the same place, spinster"

they were married in st. andrew's presbyterian church, quebec city.

    hope this helps!

  2. Here you go:

Quebec Vital and Church Record (Drouin Collection)

    Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church

Thomas Johnson of Quebec, bachelor, and Bridget Cuddy of the same place, spinster, were by license from his Excellency the Right Honorable Charles, Baron Lydenham &c &c, married on the tenth day of August one thousand eight hundred and forty one, by

    John Cook, D.D. Min.

    Thomas (x) Johnson

    Bridget Cuddy

    Denis Stoffer

    Zofie? C- [surname unlegible]

    ---------

I assume the last two names were the witnesses.  I wish I could make out the last person's name!  It looks like it starts with a C and could be something like Cacunly??  *possibly* Cuddy??  I can email you the image if you'll tell me where to send it.
