I was thinking about gettting one of these to get rid of some carpet stains caused by my dogs and I was hoping someone could share any thoughts or suggestions.

  1. Yes ,but your better off renting one at Von'sor  Ralphs  and so on, because you will need to keep you unit clean, and u will need a place to store i,t and its cheaper to rent !

  2. We have one, and it is great and easy to use to get up any stain quickly so it doesn't ruin your carpet. We also use Oxyclean for carpets to spray on the stain, then use the Green Machine to fix the job.

  3. I have 2 toddlers that are "potty training" AND a large breed dog "potty trained" and for incidents/accidents  I simply use my wet/dry shopvac.  I have a small one that was around $25 and I simply remove the filter and use it to extract the mess and then to extract the soapy water and the clean water...!  It does double duty in my garage and for spills and other messy clean-ups!  I've even used it to unclog a toy from the toilet!  I then 2x a yr. get my carpet professionally cleaned... I think it's cheaper than buying an upright home carpet cleaner... I've used several models and none clean all that well.... Or no better than my wet/dry shopvac!

    Good luck

  4. It is the best thing on the planet! Especially if you have pets! You may have to pre-treat existing stains....I would suggest getting a professional carpet cleaner in, then use the little green machine for the 'next times'

  5. I had two of them, they both quit spraying.  It worked good for a while before it quit.  I bought the bissell ProHeat upright, and it has been great!

  6. I have one and honestly I don't use it much. I have found it's faster for me to just spray something out of a can onto the spot, the scrub it by hand with a carpet brush. To use the machine, you have to dig it out right beside the carpet brush, then get out the cleaner, which is right beside the carpet spray. Then you have to take it to the sink, fill it, then you go plug it in and then finally you can clean whatever you are going to clean. While you're filling it, you could have walked over and sprayed the area and had already began brushing it before you even get there with the machine.

The only thing that I use mine for anymore is as a wet vacuum to suck water or major wet spills in my carpet. As far as stains go, you can get them out better using a carpet brush.

If you have a lot of stains, then you should just save your money and rent a rug doctor.
