Does anyone have a Camry Hybrid or a Prius?

How do you like it? What kind of mpg do you get? Would you buy another?

I own an '07 Prius and I'm very happy with it.

It incorporates so many things that just makes sense to have in a car, like:

- Use of regenerative braking to save wear on brake pads.  The Prius doesn't need new brake pads until 100,000 miles.  (not a typo).

- A simple single-gearset transmission with just 22 moving parts, no gear-shifting wear-and-tear, no hot-running torque converter, no clutch.  Much more reliable than regular car trannies.

- No timing belt, no starter, no alternator to wear out and need replacement.

- The ability to shut off the engine when the car is stopped, to save wear and tear on the engine.

And Toyota stands behind the hybrid system and battery pack with an 8-year / 100,000-mile warranty.  My warranty is 10-year / 150,000-miles because I bought the car in a state with California-standard emissions regulations.

Personally, I bought my Prius because of its low-maintenance technologies.  I consider the fuel economy a nice side benefit, and I have no trouble getting 46mpg out of it driving it sensibly.  If I want to, I can take it real easy on the gas pedal and brakes and get 50+ mpg, but I'm not patient enough for that.  :P

After driving a Prius, regular cars feel downright primitive.  I'm never going back to a regular car.

depends how i drive,but i get about 46 mpg...love it! i would buy another

I have driven both in excess,  The Camry Hybrid is my favorite.  I can get 35 mpg (on a 18 gallon tank, that is a long way).

Both are worth the investment if you can find one, we're making more as fast as we can!

I am about to buy my 3rd Prius. They are fantastic. They get better mileage than my motorcycles. I just buy a new one every 50,000 miles. I drive a lot.
