any medical charity is a worthy cause  I personally benefit from the programs and research funded by the Multiple Sclerosis Society     I also see the great benefit that families with sick children get  from being at a Ronald McDonald house.  Spread your donation around to many different charities or check the local paper on Sunday  they usually print a wish list of local charities maybe you can fill a request or two

Please see http://caringhandsmin.tripod.com  This is an all volunteer ministry that helps ppl in need in Southern Appalachia especially homeless kids and kids at risk of becoming homeless and their families and senior citizens.   Average homeless person in this area is a 7 yr old child which means half the homeless ppl in the area are kids under 7.   A count through helping agencies last yr showed over 2000 homeless kids in the area and loess than 150 shelter beds for kids which leaves a lot of kids without even the limited help and security of a shelter.  USDA says 1 in every 6 kids and 1 in every 8 senior citizens in the area does not have enough to eat to be healthy.  More info on website including how to help.

Demelza House Children's Hospice..Wonderful Charity. Been donating to them for 4 years. And it doesn't even have to be money. They will take anything from Stickers to Baby/Toddler Clothes, Arts and Crafts, Toys/Games, etc. Bless their hearts, they are a Lovely charity.
