A chronology of things like Y2K, ozone depletion, global cooling, global warming, bird flu, global starvation, global overpopulation, biofuel, etc. There have been so many I have lost track. I would like to have a list of them and the years they were popular for my science class.

    5.  Ozone depletion:  air pollution makes a hole in the cloud of gas covering the earth,, we all get too much sun and die.

    6.  Global cooling:  air pollution covers earth in a cloud of gas, blocks too much heat, and we die.

    7.  Global warming: air pollution covers earth in a cloud of gas, traps too much heat, and we die.

    8.  Comet/Meteor strikes earth: throws up a cloud of dust and we die

    9.  Industry:  air pollution covers the earth in a cloud of gas and we die.

    10.  Computer software bug (Y2K):  cripples banking and finance, everyone runs out of money; end of the world.

The common element is exactly what got the EPA invented in 1970;  air pollution and a cloud of gas over the earth.  I suppose environmentalists are pushing what sells.  If it worked once it must work again and again and ....
