  1. I had a bog standard electric oven for 19 years and then my neighbour sold me her convection (fan) oven, which had hardly been used. (They live on grilled food)  I have to say, I hate the blooming thing. I have had it for four years and burn almost everything. I can cook buns (fairy cakes) but that about all. I never seem to get the timing right, no matter how hard I try. I could cook stuff perfectly in my old oven.

  2. I 've used the convection ovens in commercial kitchens for about 9yrs now. I wouldn't have it anyother way. Everything turns out so much better and it cooks faster. When your baking breads, cakes or pies they turn out golden brown once you figure out the right temp. for what your baking. Cookies are another item that turns out great in these ovens. If you've ever cooked with puff pastry, your going to be in for a really good suprise with these oven. If you can get a full size kitchen model, I'd get it. Most of the time you can go to a used restaraunt supply warehouse and pick one up for about $300-$400. The circulation of the warm air in these ovens is what provides such an even cooking temperature all around. Your standard ovens when baking in them, you'll notice some of the cake is done and some of it is still doughy. I could go on & on about the benefits of these ovens. I think your making one of the best decisions you'll ever make !!!

  3. I have one. Baking is very good, but don`t take a cheap one. It is very difficult to clean a cheap one. If you make an roast and don`t clean it perfectly (you really have to disassemble it for cleaning) and you are baking a cake or a pizza afterwards your cake will be covered by small black flakes. Perhaps if pay 4800 Deutsch Marks for a for top German brand and not like me 700 for a noname from Italy, it is other.

( I know today there are Euros, but when I bought my oven it were DM)

  4. if it is one of those little ovens than i can help you out...it is really good for if your looking for something healthier than a microwave and it makes things really crunchy and good like a oven but doesnt have the wait to preheat...with my opinion..i really like it! good luck and hope i helped ; )

  5. I am a chef in a resort kitchen and I have also used them in the past, and we still have to flip pans around partial way through cooking. I've never used or heard of anyone using an oven, convection or otherwise, that was completely same heat throughout the oven.

I definitely do prefer cooking with a convection oven vs a regular one at work at at home, but it's not this be-all end all miraculous error free appliance, lol. Definitely satisfied though. Overall. I do a lot of baking, not just at the resort, and I definitely prefer it for cakes and other baking over a conventional oven.

  6. I used to have a combination convection/regular oven (Thermidor).  I used the convection settings occasionally, but not enough so that I ever missed not having one when we moved:)  I didn't like the way baked goods came out at all in it either! .....
