They're usually 5-10 lines or so. I'm working with a 3rd grade high-functioning child with autism. Thanks. Anything is appreciated!

  1. You could write one.  They're fairly simple.  I'm sure if you google social story you could find a pretty easy layout for one.

  2. I've used a lot of social stories with kids I've worked with, but never one on perfectionism. What are you hoping to teach in this social story? I might have something to help you

  3. You would write your own. It would be more personal. You don't write about feelings or get too wordy.

I wanted it be right. I tried to make it be just right. I really tried, but I got mad. I was mad, b/c it didn't come out right, like I wanted. I don't have to pinch or bite myself, b/c it's okay. It's okay for it not to be perfect. It's okay to mess up. I tried really hard and that's what's important.

I don't know what the child's needs are. My child hurts themselves when they are frustrated. it's hard to watch and harder to stop. I hope this helps. it's not a good story, but it was all I had right now.
