  1. My cockatiel's name is Storm because he is gray with white tipped wings kinda like lightning moving in from a storm. He loves my 7 year old daughter and actually will kiss you if you make the sound first. He likes to bury his head in her hair and will stay on her shoulder for hours even though he can fly off whenever he wants. He says his name and whistles and says pretty pretty when he talks to our parakeet.

  2. My cockateil is about 4 1/2 years old, he loves to go outside and even on road trips. I take him everywhere, well my mom had a 16 year old poodle that moved very slow. My bird would jump on the floor and nip at his feet until her dog would get up and move. We just thought he wanted to bother the dog. But if the dog went to the door to be let outside he would try to run outside with him.  Well last year we had to put the dog to sleep because he was ill and very old. My bird would run around the floor chirpping then run over to the back door and jump up and down and chirp louder. If someone opened the door he would run out the door chirpping, he still does this a year later. we think he is still looking for his play mate my moms dog... LOL   Everyone says my bird has a very huge personally, I think he is confused he is not sure whether he is a human, dog, cat or bird...LOL He will try to act like each one of those.. But he gives us many hours of the best entertainment anyone could ask for..

  3. my bird is always grumpy. he eve looks the part, you can actually see his feathers making the angry face, with the big slanted eyebrows and the grouchy scowl.

anyways. he dosent talk, but he does that whistle. you know, the one that a guy would guive a girl walking down the street if shes hot.  he does that ALL the time. its like, his only whistle he knows and hes constantly doing it. so when you look at him when your walking by, he'll give you that ugly 'what are you lookin at' face, then he'll whistle at you!

its so funny. he does it to everyone. then they will go to say hello to him then he'll hiss and snap at you, then wistle again!

its even getting to the point that when i put him, and my little lime green budgie quin up on his cage, he constantly wistles at quin! he dosent even like quin. he'll wistle at him then guive him a big bully push and the ugly 'what are you lookin at' face. he can be sweet sometimes, but when hes not, hes quite comical.

  5. I have a good story for you.  My dad and a friend of his are linemen for the local power company.  About 7 years ago they saw what they thought was a dove knocked out of the air by a small hawk, but when they went over to check on the bird they found it was a small grey cockatiel.  It was a little dizzy, but no serious injuries.  My dads friend took the bird home and would usually keep the birdcage in the garage with him while he worked on cars.  One saturday my dad went over to the garage to sharpen his chainsaw blades, and his friend ran to the autoparts store.  While he was sharpening the blades with a file, he kept hearing the file echo inside the small garage.  After 15 minutes of this echo he finally decided to open the door, and half way there he heard the echo again.  When he realized that the bird was making the sound of the file again aand again he started laughing, he actually had tears in his eyes.  Oh ya, now his friend blames him for the one annoying sound that the little grey guy makes, especially when my dad is over there!
