I have seven bridesmaids, and I didn't want the average "just a bracelet" gift, so I did buy seven freshwater pearl and sterling silver bracelets from Exclusively Weddings (total $35), and am making something to suit each of their personalities. For example, I make jewelry in my spare time, and one of my friends is dying for a kind of necklace I make, and for another I will be handcrafting a metal memory book. If you aren't the crafty sort, gift certificates to a favorite book store, restaurant, or salon would be just as thoughtful =] I would definitely recommend you checking out the Etsy website. They have one-of-a-kind items, and you can even request custom items, if you can't find the perfect gift anywhere else.

I bought my bridesmaids silk robes from Frederick's of Hollywood.  I gave them each their favorite color.  They were a smash!   Not your typical monogrammed lipstick case...

I bought each of my bridesmaids a pre-made "fill in the blank/ add your own picture type" of scrapbooks that I bought at the book store.  I think it was called "Best friends" or "Girlfriends" or something like that.  The books were found around the gift book section.  Anyway, I added my own pictures of us through the years and added my own quotes, comments, and captions.  It was a nice gift and the girls really got a kick out of them.  I also bought them their necklace earring sets and paid for them to get their hair done and bought some other little stuff for them as well.

Get her a nice teddy or pretty sleepware.  I got a really nice one from my bridal shower and I wear it on anniversaries.

My friend gave all her bridesmaids sterling silver necklaces with their first initials on them. they all wore it during the ceremony.

My future sister-in-law is giving her bridesmaids personalized Frameagrams from http://www.frameagram.com with a wedding theme. I thought it was pretty cute.

would be nice to pick a gift which goes with the theme of the wedding.

my wedding was pink and silver butterfly theme, so i bought them small silver jewellery boxes with a pink butterfly on.

i think its best to get them something which they can use and not just put away and forget about.
