My best friend her fiance, me and my fiance are planning to go on a cruise to the Bahamas. Has anyone had any experiences (good or bad) with any particular cruise line.

  1. I really like Royal Caribbean.  The facilities are nice and they have a wide age range of people on board.

  2. My aunt has been on over 60 cruises and she says Royal Caribbean is the best.  I went on a cruise to Greece last Sept on Royal Caribbean and had the time of my life.  The staff was friendly and helpful with questions about off shore excursions, etc.  They are definitely worth looking into.

  3. I have been on about 20 cruises with four different cruise lines; Celebrity, Princess, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean.  Each of these is good but my favorite is Royal Caribbean because they have great ships with lots of on-board activities.  The only one of these that I would not go on again is Norwegian, just my personal preference for something other than "freestyle' cruising that NCL does.  You will get better service on RC, Princess and Celebrity.

  4. It depends on what you are looking for and the type of person you are.  Carnival is more of a partying ship with a lot of young, drunk people.  There are a lot of dance clubs on board.  If you are into drinking and dancing, and that is main type of entertainment you enjoy, Carnival is the ship for you.

If you like to drink some, but like to do a lot of other activities on board, then Royal Caribbean is for you.  Royal Caribbean is a younger crowd, but not as wild as Carnival.  There are a lot of bars and clubs on board, but there are a lot of other activities going on.  I am not a big drinker, so I love this cruise line.  I have been on it about 10 times.

Holland America is good for the older crowd.

  5. I wouldn't write out a Disney Bahamian cruise. The stereotype for the cruise line is that it's only meant for families, but my boyfriend and I loved it! It's less chaotic, refined, and definitely entertaining. There are many great locations for adults on the ship, too. Plus, their rotational dining is refreshing. And, Disney's private island "Castaway Cay", is worth the money alone! I found the adult beach on their island to be the highlight of my vacation.

But, then again, Disney doesn't have a the standard casino and library that most cruise lines have. And, if you don't like subtle Disney hints in the decor and the Disney characters, then this isn't for you. Lastly, it's more expensive. In my opinion, the extra cabin space and extra pampering was worth the extra cash.

Good luck on your hunt for the perfect cruise!

  6. Yes been there and it is nice, but Nassau is n to my first choice, you may want to consider Cozumel Mexico too for a first cruise as it is nicer and has great shopping and I loved the Mayan ruins and the beaches

we use Carnival and they are wonderful, the shows and food are awesome, and the service will spoil you

  7. Princess Cruise Lines  was better than I imagined, but we cruised to Alaska, not the Bahamas.  My cousin who cruises about 4 times a year prefers Princess to all others.

  8. All cruise lines are awesome. Carnival, Princess and Royal Caribbean would be the least expensive. Those 3 are geared for ppl your age. Go the their web sites and check everything over! Bon voyage!!
