Question:

Does anyone have a good salsa recipe?

I love salsa, but I just can't find a good recipe. I have made a couple of different kinds, but it wasn't like, wow, this is really good. They were just ok. I don't really like things that spicy. I also really like citrusy taste, like lime. I also don't really like the taste of fresh tomatos and cilantro. Both of them are too overwhelming. I need a recipe where the tomatos are canned or something and the cilantro is dry. Thanks for your help. I know, I am kind of picky when it comes to salsa. If it helps, the store bought kind I like is Chuck and Dave's mild salsa and ChiChi's mild salsa.

It will keep in the refrigerator for a week.

get one tomato, a jalepeno, depending on how spicy you want it, and two garlic cloves, put them into a pot of water where the water is just reaching the top of the tomato. boil until the tomato's skin starts to rip and then place into a blender with 1/4 a cup of the boiling water puree and then eat!! so so good!!

  3. Simple is best. This is what my Colombian (Ex) boyfriend told me to do:

Tomatoes (guess you can do canned) we used Roma

Fresh Cilantro (Sorry, leave it out if you want, but this is authentic)

A few chopped canned jalapenos (depending on how you want it)

    Onions (white and chopped)

That's it. I've always gotten raves.

  4. I have been making fresh salsa since I have fresh stuff from the garden.

Chop several tomatoes, these will be juicy. Chop some onion, jalepeno peppers ( be careful to wear gloves) Put a few of the seeds from the pepper in there if you like it hot, if not be sure to remove the seeds. Add salt and pepper and chill in refrigerator. Enjoy!
