  1. You have to know the type of league (fun, vacation, travelling, non-sanctioned, no-tap, handicap, scratch, PBA Experience, etc.....), adult or jr. bowlers or mixed adult/jr., women or men only, specific type of industry only (banking, hotelling, law enforcement, hospitality, insurance, etc.....) and night, weekend or day league that you want to present to the bowling center.

After figuring out what type of league you want, it's up to you and the bowling center to recruit bowlers and advertise the league to the community.  When you complete signups, you have to hold a meeting at the bowling center to form teams, go over USBC rules (if sanctioned), vote in league officers, figure out what everyone pays each week, if you have an awards banquet at league's end and also structure the prize fund to see what everyone receives at the end of the league.

You can also add stuff on the side like "draw poker" where bowlers pay to play, they draw a card with each strike and after each game, the bowler with the best hand wins the pot.  Raffles and incentives to keep the bowlers happy throughout the league is fun too!  Good luck!

  2. Talk to the manager of a bowling club first.  Then you can hand out flyers at school. Or a public place.  If you get permission, maybe it would be a good idea to give kids that go to the club a deal, or like free fries or a pop if they pay to get in.  That's what I did for a golf league.
