I'm just wondering if anyone one knows how many species of owls are considered endangered out of the total species of owls.(fraction)

  1. This is a really good question.  People give little thought to owls, since they rarely see them.  I'm afraid I also do not know the answer.

    I think part of the problem your going to run into is that some species of owls are doing very well in certain small areas, but become more and more isolated as development takes place.

    My Mom has 40 acres in WA.  We can watch barn owls hunting her property almost every evening.  However if that 40 acres is developed and has hundreds of houses built on it, there will be no place for them to hunt.

    The way development happens so very fast, there might be a booming owl population in a location and five years later, no owls left.

    I've always been amazed  at how fast wildlife can disapear in an area, once humans move in.

  2. in Canada the barn,burrowing,spotted and western screech are all endangered owls check google and get more info endangered owls
