All of these recipes are made in the same way. Place the fruit in a blender or food processor and puree. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend or process until the mixture is smooth.  Pour into glasses and serve.

Each recipe makes about 1 1/4 cups (300 ml).

    Note:

    Soy Yogurt

Made from soymilk, its creamy texture makes it an easy substitute for sour cream, cream cheese or dairy yogurt. Soy yogurt is high in protein and calcium.

hope these help.               good luck and enjoy.

  4. The key is to use frozen fruit and a milk substitute.   I freeze the fruit I want or buy it frozen.  Then I pour almond or rice milk into an ice tray and freeze it.  When I am ready, I put all the ingredients into my vita-mixer, add my frozen fruit and milk substitute and, viola--a delicious smoothie without the dairy!

  5. Basic Fruit Smoothie Recipe

First, chopped fruit (one type of fruit or several) is the smoothie's fruit base. Great fruits to use are bananas, berries (including strawberries and blackberries), pineapples, mangos, and/or kiwi.

Second, add an ingredient to the smoothie as a thickener. Good choices include a can of frozen juice concentrate, frozen fruit, OR a cup of ice. How much of these ingredients you will use depends on how thick you want your smoothie to be.

Third, you will need a liquid so everything will blend smoothly. You can add fruit juice or even water (some smoothie makers use flavored water). Start with 1/4 cup and then add more if needed.

An extra option to enhance flavor is to add a sweetner, cinnamon vanilla extract, or sugar.

A good rule of thumb for the ingredient measurements is to make your smoothie with 1 part fruit, 1 part liquid, and 2 parts thick base. For example: for 1 smoothie (a little over 1 cup), you would use 1/4 cup fruit, 1/4 cup liquid, and 1/2 cup thickener. But these measurements are not set in stone. The great thing about smoothies is you can experiment to get exactly what you want!

The secret to incredibly creamy smoothies is frozen bananas. Buy them in bulk when they're on sale, peel and cover individually in plastic wrap, and freeze for future use. (They keep up to three months in the freezer.)

    Blend with juice.

Or, peel & slice the banana & iqf & then bag the frozen banana chunks.

Half the fun of making this concoction is deciding which fruits to drop in. It's also the perfect choice if you happen to have leftover fruit salad.

    1 frozen banana

2 cups fresh fruit (such as grapes, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, pear and apple slices, kiwi)

3/4 cup orange, pineapple or white grape juice

Combine the fruit and juice in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Serves 1.

    Slushies in a snap

Keep some canned fruit in your freezer ,and you can whip up this refreshing & fruity slushy in a snap.

Open a couple cans of fruit in heavy syrup (peaches work well), seal the contents in a ziplock bag & place the bag in the freezer. When you're hot, & thirsty, submerge the bag in a bowl of hot tap water until the fruit is slightly thawed (about a minute). Pour syrup into a food processor & cut the fruit up.

Blend the fruit & syrup until smooth, about 30 seconds to 2 1/2 minutes, depending on the type of fruit.

    Serve immeditely. Makes 4 (1/2 C) servings.

These can get very thick, if you'd like thinner slushies, add water/juice/ or milk.

  6. Try soy yogurt, bananas, ice and orange juice for thick and creamy smoothies.

  7. Banana, ice, sugar and honey, blend it all together...yummm

  8. soy yogurt with fresh fruit juice  and a little honey is delicious and dairy free.

  9. Banana is a great thickener. Also, some lactose intolerant people can tolerate yogurt, so give that a try.
