  4. When I was achef I saw it made once, and as the first lady said it is not an easy task, you have to buy a huge amount of tahini, and then make the sugar base for the Halvah, adding chocolate, pistachos, walnuts or almonds, even spices like fennel or cardamon.

    You cook the sugar and syrup to a soft ball stage, (220 d F on a candy thermometer) and the add the nuts or chocolate and then the tahini, but you have to work fast as once the tahini is added it sets up really quickly so a plastic line loaf pan and pour it in, when it is cooled you can slice it.
