Does anyone have a squeaking noise from the attic?

It almost sounds like a bird or squeaking. My dad said he was told it's a tree frog doing it's mating call. It's coming from a vent outside that goes to our attick. Anyone have any ideas? Ever hear this noise before?

  1. I figure that the wood in your attic is just old. "Stuff" up there is constantly warping the wood and in a few decades it could collapse (considering you didn't clean it by then). I had the same problem with the attic at my old house- just clean up there in the next few years. The sound went away after spring cleaning. If that doesn't work, you have Dracula...jk (NO idea)

  2. It might be a tree frog or a bird but you could go up there and see.  Good luck!

  3. Its a rat/mouse or bat.  Bat's love cold, dark, damp places and the attic fits that category perfectly.  Rats love dark and damp places to.

Be careful when going up there.

  4. I agree with the poster above me....my 'squeaking was bats as well. When we removed the fascia board from the peak of my roof I watched forty-six of them file out single file and fly away. I was mortified.

  5. Not trying to scare you at all, but my 'squeaking' was bats.
