Does anyone have a summer job for a 13 year old?

Well babysitting is the typical way girls get money. I am a guy and a friend of my parents used to like to go out so I was given the opportunity 3-4 times a year to babysit for them. It was easy money because typically they did not go out untill 8 or 9 pm so the kids a 8 and a 5 yr old were in bed by the time I arrived so I basically watched tv untill 3am when they got back then walked home. Baby sitting can have bonuses also as  I have a neighbor whose 14 yr old  daughter got to go on vacation with the family of the children she babysits. They were going to an amusement park (Kings Dominion) and the parents decided that they wanted her help with a 4 year old and a 7 year old so that they could also go on some of the rides.  

Other things you could do

Light house keeping - many people dont have time to clean up and need there house vacuumed, bathrooms cleaned etc.

Pet watching - people go on vacation and dont like to board there animal or have animals that they cant board like fish or a hamster. They pay you to go by the house and feed them and interact with them while they are gone.

House watching - grab the mail, newspapers and take flyers off the door so tht it doesnt look like no one is home while they are on vacation.  

Odd jobs - help people out with there spring cleaning of going thru old clothes ect.

Elderly checks - Sometimes the children of elderly people will pay you to go and check up on there parents or help then out around the house or even just keep them company. You are a little young for this but who knows. Or for that matter the elderly person might just need someone to help them get around, goto the store with them etc.  

Cut lawns - whiles its typically a boy thing I have seen girls do it also.

track lessons or

I don't know where you live, but there must be plenty of things you can do, such as housecleaning, mowing lawns, etc. If you must do something to make the summer less boring, why not volunteer? It will be good for your character and make you feel good about yourself. Helping others pays off--if you give you will receive. Volunteering also looks good on your résumé, when you are looking for a career job.
