Some other answers say just soap and water will work, but I have not found this to be true - the ants are right back on the same trail the next day!

  1. moving the trail only slows them a bit before long they blaze a new one and on they travel, you can wash it off but they put it right back.look for a bait that they think is food and you can get rid of them.........tom

  2. Nutmeg disrupts their chemical trail.  I had good luck with ant traps - the ones with the liquid inside them.  Combat was the brand name, but there are other brands.  They were very effective.  Be sure to clean up any food on the counter or anything else that might be attracting them.

  3. Go to walmart and by a bottle of Mr.Clean with febreze lavender vanilla and comfort then spray them and they wont come back. Trust me I tried it plus after you spray it dont wipe it up.

  4. what I find, is that see an ant, kill an ant. if you kill off enough scouts, they'll stop going to the area.

  5. Yep to the first answer - spray inside and outside your house if you ever want to get rid of them. We have used bait for a while, which helped a LOT, but they are still coming.  Keep your house religiously clean! Dont leave out any dirty dishes/empty soda cans overnight.  Vacuum the living room if you like to eat in front of the TV.  Put pets' food bowls in a pan of water. We are struggling with this problem! We bought some outdoor spray and are going to spray around the house this weekend and maybe that will take care of the stragglers.  Good luck!

  6. i think boiling water helps , but be careful
