  1. reminds me too much of one of my favorite Futurama episodes:

Free Waterfall Junior: "We're with mankind for ethical animal treatment. Popplers are little creatures. You got to stop harvesting them for food."

    Bender: "Or what?"

Free Waterfall Junior: "Or we'll boycott Fishy Joe's."

Leela: "You're vegetarians. Who cares what you do?"

    Free Waterfall Junior: "Shut up!"

Leela: "Animals eat other animals. It's nature."

Free Waterfall Junior: "No it isn't. We taught a lion to eat tofu."

    Lion: *cough* *pause* *cough*

  2. thats a stupid question

  3. owie brain hurts mama

  4. Use your brain.

  5. Why would you want one? Cats and dogs are carnivores.  When was the last time you saw a cat or dog grazing in a field?  Feed the poor thing what it's meant to have: MEAT.

  6. Dogs are omnivores, which means they can adopt a vegan diet no problem, but cats are carnivores, so they have issues with it.  I have many friends with vegan dogs, and they are all healthy.  They are a lot like humans in the sense that veg dogs don't get sick and get cancer as much as dogs who eat c**p food.  They all have shiny coats and are a perfect weight.

As for cats, I have had friends who were able to keep vegan cats, but they had to cook for them, add certain things to their food.  It was time consuming but worth it.  I personally could never keep a cat because I could not decide that the cat's life is worth more than all the cows, pigs, chickens, and fish it would be eating over the course of its life.

You can find veg pet food at some health food stores and online.

  7. They need meat especially cats.

  8. they NEED meat. we don't. they do.

  9. Historically dogs are omnivores (they eat anything) and cats are carnivores (they eat meat).  It would probably be easier to have a dog that is a vegetarian than a cat- it would  be very difficult to create a diet for a cat that would allow it to be a healthy vegetarian.  There are several web sites out there that discuss this issue.

The main problem in having a vegetarian pet is the amount of work involved.  If you are determined to do this- you have to be committed to making sure you pet is getting all the nutrients they need to be healthy- that includes making sure they have whatever supplements they need and the variety of food they need to have a healthy diet.

    Good luck!

  10. Cats are carnivores by nature.  I would never recommend a vegetarian diet for them.  I have a dog that's vegetarian because of a liver problem.

  11. Even PETA supports animals eating animals. Dogs and cats have dietary needs. I'd suggest asking your vet. The only way a vegetarian diet is healthy for your animals is if it is overweight, and even then, you'd have to ask your vet. I understand what you're asking, but the honest answer is no.

  12. LOL

On the Peta web site you can go to the Peta mall and actually buy Vegeterian food for your pets but I personally just buy seafood instead. Anything with tuna whitefish salmon and so on. They've been eating only seafood for the past 5 years and they are doing great :)

  13. Unlike humans, dogs and cats (when wild) eat what nature tells them to. This includes mostly meat.

  14. your question is NOT stupid!!!!

yes cats and dogs CAN be vegetarian, ask your vet!

they sell special vegetarian food for them, and it contains all the nutrients they need!!!!!!

agh! above people are soo closed minded!

  15. Cats and Dogs are carnivores and so it would be very harmful to cut meat out of their diet. Many people will actually feed their animals organic foods, or foods from low on the food chain, but they need meat to survive. Trying to feed a cat or a dog all of the foods needed to get all of the amino acids would be quite a challenge. If you try it and the animal isn't getting enough or the right nutrition you could be charged with a crime. Personally I wouldn't recommend it.

  16. No, it is not.

    They have special dietary needs.

  17. i have an vegan cat and im vegan.

  18. No.  No cat or dog should be on a veg diet - cats are obligatory carnivores, meaning they need meat to survive, and dogs are omnivores, feeding mainly on meat.  It is fine to be a vegetarian, but you should not force your way of life upon an animal.
