I'm looking for a vivid snowboarding story, (injury possibly) or experience that may be nice to share. I need a good story to share with my snowboarding speech. Anyone care to share your snowboarding injury? or snowboarding story? Skiing is acceptable too. thanks in advance

  1. it was towards the end of the day, i was on the chair lift with my parents, and we saw this awesome piece of slope. the snow looked great, it wasn't groomed, but it had a few tracks in it, and it didn't look like you could set off an avalanche snowboarding on it.

so, when we were finally on the top of the mountain, my dad and i decided to try that slope, as it was going to be our last run of the day. this particular slope was crossed off of the signs, but we didn't care - both of us love backcountry.

so, after ducking under the ropes closing the slope off, we started shredding, and it was awesome! the powder was amazing, and not too deep to lose control. the slope was pretty steep (it used to be a black run) but that was okay. i fell a few times, but it never really mattered because it was just deep snow.

then, all of  a sudden, when we were maybe halfway down the mountain, my board hit something, and i just went flying backwards, and landed on my back. my head hit a rock, and luckily, i was wearing a helmet, so i didn't get hurt too badly.

but then, i started slipping downwards, and my helmet, plus my goggles, slipped off my head and rolled away. i had completely forgotten to buckle and tighten the helmet!

it took about fifteen minutes to find the helmet, but in the end i did.

we shredded some more, and everything seemed to be going fine, until we both realized that we should have been at the bottom of the slope ages ago. yet we were in the middle of nowhere, only this little river on our left and lots and lots of trees around us.

soon, we realized that we should be on the other side of that river if we wanted to get to the bottom of the slope. but the problem was, the river was small, but not small enough to cross just like that. neither of us wanted to get wet and walk through the river, and risk getting taken by the river.

so, i took off my board, my dad took off his skis, and we walked back upwards, back to where we could cross the river.

this happened to be half an hour of walking upwards...

and when we finally got to a point where the river could be crossed, we got onto the real slope as quickly as possible.

when we finally got to the bottom, my mom was SO MAD. because, it was already quite some time past lift hours, and she had worried her *** off.

thank god our car was parked only five minutes' walk away.

  2. Well a few years ago i went to the kirkwood mountain resort and i skied the whole time with my sister and my friend, we were just going down the same mountain mostly and we finally decided to go off roading! So we started out into the trees, we hit a patch of powder and all of us couldn't see are skies so we all fell, but wait it doesn't stop there all of are skies were buried in 6" inches deep powdered snow! We were stupid enough to ski into a deep hole hoping that we would get back on the slope, but then we were even more stuck! We must have had boots full of Ice snow! But it took me about five minutes to realize that we had to take off our skies and just walk, so i took charge and got us out of the hole! My sister found the slope and then we were back on the slope!

i have another short story about snowboarding. my friend and i were on snowboards for the first time we took a lesson but after that we were on our own! My friend stuck to the bunny hill when i went on the bigger slopes it took me a while to go down but after falling about 30 times and twisting my ankle i made it down the slope!
