Does anyone have an earth furnace (geothermal furnace)?

i am wanting to know if anyone has one and how well they work,, im thinking of getting one.. they are around 14,000... does anyone know of cheaper units.. thanks for responding

Here are a few sites to look at. I built a home back in the 70`s that used this system and have had great results . Takes a while to recover your costs depending on where you live, but then again I did this before we were worried about global warming and I built a totaly self sustaining home . Still costs about $300 yr to heat and cool and I live in northern Canada and the house is completely off the grid except for a gas backup system

geothermal systems do work great and are very very efficient.  But the problem has always been the actual financial payback.  It is hard to justify the large investment and much larger maintenance cost.  I guess if you have $500 heating and cooling biils it is worth the investment, but if you have average bills it's tough to justify.

stay away from them   .............. in the long term , you get you money back ... but short term  ........ it will cost you ...

  most school etc use them ... but  there can afford them

   ive installed  around   43   geothermal systems



but all but one were  schools    ...........
