Question:

Does anyone have an eye condition called Belapharitis?

I have had this condition for several months. There is a family history of this in my situation. I have read a lot on the internet and have been doing the treatments as instructed but sometimes it is really an aggravation especially when it gets better and then worse again. My Dr. had never heard of it until I brought it up. Maybe someone has suggestions as to what treatment you may be using.

  1. If you have blepharitis, follow this self-care remedy once or twice a day:

Apply a warm compress over your closed eye for 10 minutes.

Immediately afterward, use a washcloth moistened with warm water and a few drops of baby shampoo to wash away any oily debris or scales at the base of your eyelashes.

Rinse your eyelid with warm water and gently pat it dry with a clean, dry towel.

Evidently from what I've been told, you will have to do this every day of your life.   You say it gets better and then worse, so when it gets better, just wash once a day when it is worse, wash twice a day.  If it still is bad, then go to the warm compress before washing.

It just has to be part of your daily routine, even when you don't feel any irritations at all.  Maybe you should go to any eye doctor, they are the ones familiar with this condition.

Have you ever felt it had something to do with your eyelashes causing an irritation in your eyes?  I have but the remedy for belapharitis works for me so I guess that's what it must be.
