  1. Can you state your question in a way I can understand it?

But guessing at your question, an EE usually does work with circuits, instrumentation, computers, schematics, PC boards, and good old pencil and paper, and lots of meetings.

Exactly what products you work with depends on the company and your job inside that company.

  2. All you need to work with electronic gadgets is enough curosity for how things work to dare open them.  A soldering iron and a s***w driver would come in handy.

If you want to assemble gadgets, then you can take a community college course at night on 'electronic fabrication'.  You'll learn how to use a soldering iron to assemble pre-designed kits.  You could get your diploma in Electronics Technology after 3 years of full time study.  This should be enough to be able to design and build AM and FM receivers and transmitters from scratch, and repair TVs and computers.

If you want to design gadgets, you'll want a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.  Some countries make a distinction between Electrical and Electronics.  If yours does, go for electronics, unless you want to work for a hydro distribution company.

With a B.Eng. degree, you'll have enough of a head start in knowledge to design circuit chips, build satellite transcievers, and interface factory equipment to wireless web browsers.

If you focus on instrumentation, you're going to spend more time focused on methods for acquiring data from factory processes, and using computers to control the process using feedback.
