  1. I read every Madeline L'engle book I could get my hands on in junior high.  I also read as many Roald Dahl books as I could.  I love Harry Potter, and His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman (as mentioned by another poster).  If you like fantasy you might try Stephen King's Dark Tower series (which is great, but might be better appreciated when you're a little older)

I loved Judy Blume and Beverly Cleary.  When I went to summer camp, I always took Charlotte's Web (E.B. White) with me and re-read it every summer.

I also loved the Anne of Avonlea stories by L.M. Montgomery (which began with Anne of Green Gables.)

My sister loved all the Jane Austen and Bronte sisters books.

    Hope all these ideas help.

  2. My son is in Junior High and we have both read and really enjoyed the following books.

Dragons of Deltora series by Emily Rodda

Song of the Wanderer and Into the Land of the Unicorns by Bruce Coville

    Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer

Maximum Ride series by James Patterson

Cirque Du Freak Series by Darren Shan

The Spiderwick Chronicles whose authors names I can't remember at this moment (sorry about that)

Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snickett

Besides those I have read the following books and really enjoyed them and they are in the young teens section at the library.

Daughters of the Moon series by Lynne Ewing

    Which Witch by Eva Ibbotson

Trixie Beldon mysteries several by Julie Campbell but if you look them up there will be different authors later on in the series.

Kathleen Please Come Home by Scott O'Dell

Hope this helps you out.  Happy Reading~

  3. If you like fantasies, I'd say Harry Potter, the His Dark Materials series, and the Chronicles of Narnia.

If you like crime/thriller things, James Patterson or whatever his name is is a great author.

Teen girl things? Forever by Judy Blume, and the Twilight series.

Classics? I loved the Catcher in the Rye, which I read in sixth grade, and my personal favorite out of all the genres is 1984 by Orwell.

I read a couple of romances, but the language was so colorful and verbose that I quickly got sick of it.
