Does anyone have any advice for audition monologues?

I'm auditioning for several high school plays this year and could use some advice for 1-2 minute monologues. I plan on auditioning for Darcy in Pride and Prejudice, Mordred in Camelot, and Javier in Les Miserables. Any advice for good monologues for these plays and musicals would be appreciated.

  1. One of the best monologues I ever saw was this one guy playing both parts of a conversation between 2 people.  He would first face one way, and then the other.  He would change his voice and expressions.  It took a lot of preparation and talent, but the result was memorable.  If you're up against a bunch of other people you want to be memorable.  Good Luck!

  2. i also love acting well i suggest that we you practice the

monologues you should go in front of a mirror and practice speech. and if you want to really want to get into it try to change your voice in the way that your character would speak. to remember the monologues you should practice line by line its makes it easier. sometimes it helps to have a partner practice with you so you could get the true feeling of the part you are playing.

  3. One of the best sources for advice to choose your monologues would be your acting technique teacher, who knows you, your strengths and weaknesses as an actress. He/She is probably also well read and can give you some good suggestions for a monologue to choose.

I have done some research on places on the internet where you can find monologues of all types, including teen monologues, monologues for girls, women, men, comical monologues, short comedic monologues, etc. I also answer a lot of questions about how to effectively memorize a monologue as well as about common mistakes that actors often make while performing a monologue for an audition. On this page on my site for new and aspiring actors, you will find all that information including links to the types of monologues you are looking for. http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/comic...

    Good luck in your auditions.
