  1. a Thumbs down? For a recipe? How stupid.

    This is one I make and everyone loves it.

    1 pound of ground beef or ground turkey

    1 can cream of mushroom soup

    1 can cream of chicken soup

    1 can Veg All mixed veggies (well drained)

    Tator Tots (I use the minis sometimes)

    Brown the beef, drain. Season with salt and pepper to your taste. I add garlic powder (1/2 teasp.) And sometimes I add 1/2 teasp. seasoning like Creole Tony Chacherie or Italian seasoning, up to you.)

    Put the soups in a 2 qt casserole dish. Add your beef. Blend. Add the (drained) Veg All. Blend. Cover top of mixture with tator tots. Bake in a 350 F oven for about 30 to 40 minutes.  I serve this with  Store bought garlic bread, and a lettuce, tomato and fresh mushroom salad.

  2. Here's a great one...and most men love beef.  And you can also serve this one as a roast beef, without making sandwiches and then use the leftovers for great sandwiches!

    Beef Brisket French Dip Sandwiches

    1 3 -4 Lb beef brisket

    1 pkg onion soup mix

    6 -8 hoagie rolls

    1 can beef broth

    6-8 slices provolone cheese

    Line baking pan with foil leaving enough overlapping to seal up tightly.  Place beef brisket in foil lined pan with fat side up.  Top with ½ to all of the onion soup mix.  Do not put any liquid in the pan.  Seal in foil and place in 170 oven overnight or until fork tender (approx 8 to 10 hours).  Or bake at 350 for 2 to 3 hours.  Remove meat and reserve juice.  Mix broth with juices in serving pan.  Slice meat thinly against grain and return to juice.

    Split hoagie rolls and add cheese and meat.  Broil for 2 to 3 minutes until cheese is melted and roll is slightly brown.  Serve with extra juice on side.

    Great for football games or any get together where you need something warm and savory.

  3. Something I tried not too long ago: fideuà. It's sort of a seafood paella made with pasta. Start with some chopped onion and garlic in a wide frying pan such as a paella pan, cooked in a little olive oil and a sprinkle of salt (a sofrito). Meanwhile, saute some firm fish like monkfish, tuna, or halibut, cut into large chunks, and some jumbo shrimp. Combine the fish, shrimp, and about a pound of spaghetti or vermicelli, broken into 2-3 inch lengths, and stir them all together in the paella pan. Add fish stock or clam juice (Japanese instant dashi is good for this) along with some saffron and paprika, then bring to a boil and simmer till done.

  7. Linguine with crab and lemon

    Serving size: Serves 4

    Cooking time: Less than 30 minutes

    Course: Main

    You can buy crab meat already shelled ("picked" in the trade) and cooked from your fishmonger or supermarket. Or use good-quality tinned crab meat, or tinned tuna.

    INGREDIENTS

    300g dried linguine

    2 tbsp salt, plus extra to season

    250g cooked crab meat

    Handful baby rocket leaves

    1 tbsp grated lemon zest

    1 tbsp baby salted capers, rinsed

    lemon sauce

    ½ cup chicken stock

    2 tbsp lemon juice

    Salt and freshly ground black pepper

    50g chilled butter, diced

    2 tbsp cream or creme fraiche

    METHOD

    1. Bring saucepan of water to boil, add 2 tbsp salt and pasta. Cook for about 8 minutes or until pasta is all dense — tender but firm to the bite.

    2. Make lemon sauce. Bring chicken stock to boil in saucepan. While whisking, add lemon juice, salt and pepper. Over gentle heat, whisk in chilled butter, a few pieces at a time, without allowing sauce to boil. Stir cream or crème fraiche.

    3. Drain pasta, keeping aside a cupful of cooking water.

    4. Add pasta, cupful of cooking water, crabmeat, rocket, lemon zest, caper, salt and pepper to sauce, tossing lightly until rocket has wilted and pasta is well coated.

    Hope this helps

  8. Shh.Ask one of your family members they have to no a very good recipe.

  9. The easiest thing every to make that sounds and looks really hard is chicken Parmesan. All you do is take chicken breast, dunk them in egg, then flour, then back in egg, then in bread crumbs. Then you put a lil bit of oil in a skillet and fry em up til they are all goldeny brown and cooked in the middle.. make sure the skillet is turned low to medium low so it cooks all the way through without burning it. then you can add a veggie for the side or if your feeling froggy mashed potatoes. Its super yummy, and good with gravy on it. or you can make noodles and alfredo sauce with it and put the chicken on top... mmmmmm. :)

  10. I have a really good pasta recipie:

    INGREDIENTS

        *   1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, once around the pan in a slow

    stream

        *   1 tablespoon butter

        *   2 cloves garlic, minced

        *   2 shallots, minced

        *   1 cup vodka

        *   1 cup chicken stock

        *   1 can crushed tomatoes (32 ounces)

        *   Coarse salt and pepper

        *   16 ounces pasta, such as penne rigate

        *   1/2 cup heavy cream

        *   20 leaves fresh basil, shredded or torn

    Serve  with:

        *   Crusty bread, for passing

    Heat a large skillet over moderate heat. Add  oil, butter, garlic and

    shallots. Gently sauté shallots for 3 to 5 minutes to  develop their sweetness. Add vodka to the pan (3 turns around the pan in a  steady stream will equal about 1 cup). Reduce vodka by half, this will take 2 or  3 minutes. Add chicken stock, tomatoes. Bring sauce to a bubble and reduce heat  to simmer. Season with salt and pepper.

    While sauce simmers, cook pasta  in salted boiling water until cooked to al dente (with a bite to it). While  pasta cooks, prepare your salad or other side dishes.

    Stir cream into  sauce. When sauce returns to a bubble, remove it from heat. Drain pasta. Toss hot pasta with sauce and basil leaves. Pass pasta with crusty bread.

    Hope you like!

  15. Here's a recipe that would please almost any guy and it's so easy.

    Toasted Steakhouse Sandwich

    Secret Sauce: 1/2 c. prepared alfredo sauce

                          1/4 c. mayo

                          dash of onion or garlic salt

    Sandwich: Kaiser rolls, 1 loaf of french bread or any other rolls you

                     choose

                     1 lb. deli roast beef or turkey (i prefer smoked turkey)

                     1/2 c. shredded Italian cheese blend

                     1/2 c. shredded swiss cheese

    Stir together alfredo sauce, mayo and garlic or onion salt. Spread on both slices of bread. Place the prepared sandwich halves (open faced) upon baking sheet under broiler for about 1 min until sauce is bubbly and the edges of the bread barely start to brown; remove from oven. Arrange meat on both sandwich halves; then sprinkle evenly with shredded cheeses; broil for another min (still open faced) until cheese is bubbly and browning. Remove from oven. Put sandwich halves together and return to oven to lightly toast (very, very briefly only) top and bottom of sandwich; remove from oven.

    Meatloaf is another of my husbands favorite. My recipe isn't for a traditional meatloaf, but it's very good.

    Easy Pleasing Meatloaf

    2 eggs, beaten

    2 lb. ground beef

    1 pkg. chicken stuffin mix

    1 c. water

    1/2 c. kraft barbecue sauce, divided

         Preheat oven to 375. In a sm bowl, beat eggs lightly with a fork. This makes it easy to incorporate into the meat mixture. Place ground beef, stuffing mix, water, beaten eggs and 1/4 c. barbecue sauce in lg bowl. Mix all ingredients just until blended. Shap meat mixture into an oval loaf in a 9x13 baking pan. Top meatloaf with remaining 1/4 c. barbecue sauce. Bake 1 hr. or until cooked through. I actually separate mine into a muffing tin (makes about 12) and bake at 450 for 18-20 min. It cuts down the cooking time and they're already in perfect portion sizes.

    Hope these ideas help.

  18. You will need to at LEAST triple this recipe, but it's not only delicious and easy and very fast, but it's VERY healthy!!!

    Here is the part you will need to triple-

    2 tablespoons soy sauce

    2 tablespoons vinegar (1/2 part red wine vinegar, 1/2 part either white or rice wine vinegar)

    1 1/2 tablespoon sugar

    1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes OR hot chili oil that has the pepper flakes in it

    1/4 teaspoon salt

    1 tablespoon minced garlic (grate it on the finest setting on your cheese grater)

    Combine those in a fry pan/skillet or wok... then add a half of a head of brocolli (or a full depending on how much sauce you want)... cook brocolli until it begins to get tender, at the last minute add those small salad shrimp that are already cooked (rinse shrimp off in cold water to get the extra shrimpiness off)...

    If you notice it is a little too thick, you can add a couple tablespoons of water and simmer it until it's combined and thinned...

    Serve over steamed white rice.

    Perfect white rice-

    2 cups long grain enriched white rice

    3 3/4 cup water

    put rice and water in a sauce pan, cover and let come to a boil. Cook on medium/low heat for about 20 minutes, check on it after about 20 minutes and stir. Cover again until it is fluffy (about 25-35 minutes total)...

    Serve this as the soup with the rice-

    http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/emeri...

    It's wonton soup... can't go wrong! :)

    This is VERY light, so you will want a dessert for after... vanilla ice cream with fresh berries on top is a WONDERFUL and refreshing dessert item...

Stir fry carrots for about 4 minutes, then add broccoli and garlic and stir fry for another 2 minutes. Finally, stir in broth, basil and cheese and return chicken to skillet. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 4 minutes.

    Place drained pasta in a large serving bowl. Top with chicken/vegetable mixture and serve immediately.

    Once this was on Rachel Ray and so we made it and it was AMAZING! We didn't make the slaw but the sloppy joes are sooo good (you just keep eating them) and despite all of the ingredients//steps they're fairly easy to make and they're deffinately easy to make.
