I can't see well enough to drive but have been through mainstream education and can work alongside fully sighted people with onlya few adjustments to IT etc. I am so keen to try cycling, mainly to assist me getting around in rural areas, which I love to visit. I am not that interested in tandem cycling as it is the freedom that a bike might offer that appeals to me. I already love hiking and running. I would stick to off road as I would feel very nervous in the city (most people would, I think!)

  1. Only experience I have is with tandems, the actual speed might be problem when someone trying to point out hazards on the track or road. Have you tried out any short distances with a friend to start with, getting very familiar with a route would be key.
